Alas, the book is published so that I can post it in SSB. I don't like to post books with ugly or no cover :P As usual, the novel was illustrated by Eno. The novel is officially on sale today so if you want to support Gu Man or the novel, you can buy it at dangdang but it is in Chinese & the shipping cost to outside of China is quite steep. GM signed abt 2,000 copies but they've all been sold out. You get a free poster similar to the book cover and 2 postcards like above. I've sort of finished translating the novel and I'm in the midst of translating the epilogues which are plenty. I hope I can finish that before the cast of the drama adaptation is announced lol. Since the book had been published, netizens have turned their attention to speculating who'll be the leads. Lidge hopes that her favorite won't be in the running and I hope so too bcos if he gets the role, I'll probably vomit blood and my tears will flood the Yangtze River :P
I'll not really write a book review bcos everything I write will be bias since I am the translator. If I don't like the book or think it is good, why am I even bother to translate it since it is such hard work? It took me forever to translate the gaming terminologies since I've never played any online game except Farmville in my life before :( Many people are scared away by the gaming part of the novel & so was I. But I can assure you that the novel has more depth than that. At the same time, the novel also has its flaws but this is a positive step in Gu Man's career progress to become a more mature writer. She jokingly wrote that she meant to write an angsty novel but ended up writing a sweet text :)
Gu Man also wrote that the published book is the same as the version posted online at jjwxc.net which I've been translating, nothing more or less. She is a rather generous writer who is willing to post everything online for you to read and only buy the book if you like it. I guess with her reputation, she can afford to do like this.
