Transmigrating To Become The Boss’s Little Fairy / Sweet Candy Fairy 穿成大佬的小仙女 / 草莓糖和小仙女他都要 by 春刀寒 Chun Dao Han (HE)

In her previous life, Qi Ying had been saved from the bandits’ cave by the General, and subsequently became the General’s concubine. The General never lost a single battle, and songs praising him spread far and wide. In the end, however, the General was mortally wounded, and died on the battlefield. When news of the General’s death reached Qi Ying’s ears, she hung herself from the beams without a moment’s hesitation — only to discover, upon waking up, that she has transmigrated to become a 17-year-old deaf and mute Qi Ying.

The youthful girl is neither able to hear any sound, nor is she able to speak; and yet, her eyes were as beautiful as the pure, white moonlight, and her character was extremely easygoing. One day, she met a cold and aloof male youth, whom everybody was afraid and wary of — her General.

The Ji Rang in everybody’s eyes:

Horridly short tempered! Extremely rich! It’s best not to cross paths with him!

The Ji Rang in Qi Ying’s eyes:

The General is simply executing Heaven’s will and punishing the evildoers! The General is simply robbing the rich to feed the poor! The General is superb and amazing!

———————————————–

Ji Rang pressed Qi Ying against the wall:-

Qi Ying: “Oh, when a boy presses a girl against the wall, he has every intention of kissing her, mua~!”

Ji Rang: ???

———————————————–

“Ji Rang, did you really bring your girlfriend along to spectate our fight? Are you looking down on me right now?”

“I’m not looking down on you. I just want to let my little fairy observe how I punish evildoers and reward kind people.”

———————————————–

Everyone’s afraid of Ji Rang;

Nobody loves Ji Rang, except for Qi Ying.

  • I was looking for something really light-hearted and sweet when I came across Transmigrating To Become The Boss’s Little Fairy. Although 春刀寒 is a relatively new author in the C-novel community, she has a really famous novel titled "Understanding What It Means To Be a Wifey Fan", which has received rave reviews. However, since the setting of Understanding What It Means To Be a Wifey Fan (whereby the female lead is a fan of the male lead) didn't appeal to me, I opted not to pick up the novel at that time. As such, when Transmigrating To Become The Boss’s Little Fairy, I knew I had to give it a shot.

Transmigrating To Become The Boss’s Little Fairy details the love story between a sweet and innocent girl (our female lead) who had been saved by a General (our male lead) in her previous life. Our female lead hangs herself upon hearing about the General's death, only to time-travel and transmigrate to become a modern high-school girl who (surprise, surprise) meets the rebellious and angry reincarnation of our male lead. Being the reincarnation of the General, our male lead, unlike our female lead, does not possess the memories of their past life together, and, given the different life experiences of the General Ji Rang and the High School Boy Ji Rang, appears to have cultivated two seemingly different personalities. However, our female lead is never dismayed or discouraged in her pursuit of our male lead; she always remains staunch and certain that, despite the prickly, grouchy and unfriendly exterior of our male lead, he continues to possess a gentle and righteous heart. And thankfully, this is precisely what our male lead requires - coming from a complex and complicated family background, High School Boy Ji Rang is trapped in a frenzied and injured emotional stage where he lashes out at the people around him out of rebellion. It is only with our female lead's undying faith and unwavering support that he is able to look past the hurt and the anger, and begin to slowly step onto a path of healing.

All in all, a really sweet and humorous novel with "healing" elements contained therein.

  • I was looking for a sweet, light-hearted novel when I came across Transmigrating To Become The Boss’s Little Fairy. Although the author, 春刀寒, is fairly new to the C-novel community, her debut novel 'Understanding What It Means To Be a Wifey Fan' received received rave reviews for being a humorous and sweet novel. Like her previous novel, Transmigrating To Become The Boss's Little Fairy does not disappoint, and 春刀寒 easily weaves a simple yet moving tale of two injured souls who manage to find solace, warmth and healing in each other.

Admittedly, the comedic tone of the novel, coupled with the campus setting, doesn't make a deep, introspective and self-reflective novel; but it is more than sufficient in the creation of well-moulded, lovable characters whilst serving up some good laughs. As described in the summary, our female lead, Qi Ying, was saved by the General in her previous life, and, upon hearing news of the General's death, she took her own life by hanging herself from the beams; it was only then that she transmigrated into the body of deaf and mute high schooler Qi Ying, and reunites with our male lead. Having transmigrated, Qi Ying continues to retain the memories of her previous life; conversely, our male lead - high schooler Ji Rang - does not possess any memories of his previous life as he is simply the present reincarnation of the General. However, although the General Ji Rang and High Schooler Ji Rang may appear to be two entirely different persons, we realise that both the General Ji Rang and the High Schooler Ji Rang possesses the very same intrinsic qualities that make them so attractive to Qi Ying.

This novel also incorporates some "healing" elements, with both our male and female leads having suffered some form of trauma at the start of the novel - our female lead (before Qi Ying in the previous life transmigrated to become the modern high schooler Qi Ying) had just lost both her parents, and as a result of being unable to cope emotionally with such news, slipped into a "deaf and mute" state. Our male lead, on the other hand, is struggling with familial issues and, as a result, continually acts out and willingly lets himself degenerate. As usual in most fluffy romance novels, it is only through their love for each other that both are 'healed' and eventually redeemed. Although it is a relatively old trope, the author manages to deal with such theme rather well (albeit in an admittedly uncreative manner).
