The Dreamer in the Spring Boudoir / Chun Gui Meng Li Ren (Romance of A Twin Flower) 春闺梦里人 by 白鹭成双 Bai Lu Cheng Shuang (HE)

“I can’t accept this! I can’t! Even as a ghost, I’m going to spend eternity cursing that your relationship will shatter like glass! Break apart like a pair of mandarin ducks that fly away from each other!” With such a persisting obsession, it would be difficult for the vengeful departed spirit to move on.

Ji Man had only read a light novel to pass the time, but she was unexpectedly pulled into a very strange dream. She had become the novel’s most vicious villainess.

The novel rewinds to the beginning. The villainess that had been ordered to commit suicide reappears onto the stage and begins to follow the plot as she walks toward the novel’s ending once again, to a courtyard deep inside a marquis’s residence. A female lead that’s like the Holy Mother. Countless cannon fodders. The imperial family’s favor…

  • On a hot summer sleepless night a few years ago, I stumbled upon the audio book. I only listen to at least duo sound book but this book is listed as single sound. Yet, I still clicked on it & what a nice surprise. I immediately recognised one of my fav CV Desert Fox 沙漠之狐 is the male CV. So I ended up listening all night & didn't get much sleep lol.

The plot is kind of diff bcos it is not a time travelling novel but the female lead was having a super long dream. The book is pretty interesting so I do recommend you to listen to the audio book or read the translation if you don't understand Chinese.

But my attention span is short so I didn't manage to finish the novel. This is bcos the male lead is such a jerk, lack of romance & too many side characters and sub plots which drag the story. I did read some comments that the male lead will become likable & there'll be more romance so I might pick up where I left off 1 fine day :)

Actually the author wanted to write a BE in that the female lead woke up from her dream, missed the people in her dream, has an accident, then fell into a coma and continue her dream. But reality is harsh enough so she decided to be the real mother & wrote a HE.

  • Damn! The author should have stuck with the BE cuz at the rate that the novel is going at the moment, your girl really cannot see any light at the end of the tunnel. xD I agree that this novel is quite polarizing. You will either love it or hate it. There is absolutely no in between. I definitely love it more than I hate it but my feelings regarding it do change anytime a new chapter comes out. -_-
