In the late 1970s, in an alley in the family area of a cotton spinning factory in Suzhou, lived three families, the Zhuang, the Lin, and the Wu families. These time of changes such such as resumption of the college entrance examination, the youth returning to their cities, chinese economic reforms brought earth-shaking changes to the fate of the parents and children of the three families.
