Would you believe this story? I loved a person, loved him for three thousand six hundred forty three years. Because I had his love, I once believed I was the most blessed woman in the world. Nobody could ever compare to me. I was that impulsive, that confident. Remembering those years when my feelings were so strong, I had sworn to the heavens that I would stay by his side until our hair turned white. He carefully held me in his arms, saying that it would not just be so for this lifetime, but he wanted us to be like this lifetime after lifetime.

Every word he said, I would believe unconditionally. He told me that every lifetime he would love me, stay by my side forever, that he would never leave, and would never change.

How regretful. He eventually changed.

Painted Deity 画仙 is the third book in Jun Zi Yi Ze’s 5 part series Bi Luo Hua Yuan 碧落华缘 (roughly translated to “Splended Fates Under the Blue Sky”)which include two previously released books Helplessness 奈何 and Sea of Flowers 月都花落 沧海花开. The last two books have not yet been published/released but will also be telling the heart-touching love stories of characters sharing the same world as the previous books.

  • I was so happy to find out these books were part of a 5-part series and the last book is actually about the Heavenly Emperor. I hate that guy and want to see him suffer for all the suffering he brought on the CPs in Helplessness and Sea of Flowers!!
This book is not that bad of an ending imo, but it's still sad. The ending is very vague, I think the author learned that traumatizing readers is very cruel haha.

  • xnekox You asked for it!!
Basically this story starts out as main girl's second life after she was heartbroken and died.Story starts out so so slow. I think it only picks up after Zi Xiao's ghost shows up to give her the 'gift' of her previous life's memories. I'm still trying to make sense of the ending lol. In a nutshell, the main girl accidentally cast a very powerful spell in her second life by painting the person she saw in her dreams (the person she was in love with in her previous life) because a magical brush she painted with in her previous life somehow found its way back to her. The powers of this brush is what makes me wonder if the main guy ever truly came back to begin with. Maybe I am in denial, but I think his cryptic words to her when he first meets her reincarnation is evidence enough that the painted deity is still him 100% and that he still loves her despite whatever he claims afterwards due to him knowing that he isn't capable of staying by her side permanently.
Sometimes I wonder why I like reading BE so much lol. There must be something wrong with me!!
