  • I have been watching this drama off and on--I seem to binge watch it and then step back for a while, then go to check on it again and binge several episodes. I really like all the women characters but so far there aren't many guys I am really into. One of my favorites is not even on the poster as he is not a heartthrob and I guess he is not destined to get his girl but he is so sincere--though not handsome or particularly extraordinary. I always wish when i see him that it was a story of ordinary people so he could be an important lead. But it seems that though the women can be a range of ordinary to extraordinary, the men all need to be special. Of course, now I am curious about the book.

  • zskyfish - I am watching the drama as well. Who areyou talking about ? Senior Lin ?
I am the same as you ..binge watch and then off.
But I like this drama because for once the female characters are real and not fighting over/agonising over men all the time.

  • Yes, i think it is Senior Lin. I think it is not meant to be and he may turn out different than I thought but seeing him at first, made me think it would be interesting to see an ordinary guy get the girl sometimes. His face shows some vulnerablility--I thought he was a good actor. I actually liked him better than Qi Dian or what ever that nickname is. But Senior Lin did say something perhaps unforgivable about Guan Guan being compliant or something to that effect so perhaps he was not a good choice for her. Anyway I have been on the off for a bit (though I did already skip ahead and see the end.) It became hard partly because i watched ahead at one point without subtitles so it doesn't feel fresh even though I need to watch again to fully understand. The dialouge can be so good. And yes I agree with you that this show is really all about the friendship of the women, and what a wonderful thing to have a network of women. Women supporting each other in their careers and mentoring each other in that way is very nice to see. So empowering to one another. The men are really side characters.
