[Son of Darkness] is comprised of a series of four stories revolving around Ye Kong Shan and Cheng Kuang.
Cheng Kuang is a Mei who has just come into existence and had taken on the form of a young human girl. She is beautiful, intelligent and simple-hearted. She wants to melt into the human society and live like a normal human. Because of her desire become a true “human”, she was specially arranged to become a subordinate to the famous detective Ye Kong Shan. This story reminds me of another Novoland story 华胥引 but ten times creepier. Try not read this at night if you're timid. I'm a bit of a chicken so I didn't. Otherwise, it's pretty entertaining. Romance-wise, it's a bit dry, but it's kind of expected with this detective-style storyline. I feel if it were longer, would see more development in their relationship and possibly a bigger more ambitious plot revolving the king and a coming war that the characters are all afraid will happen soon, but then I'm also kind of happy it was rather short since the story gets pretty creepy.
