• This touching story by author 天籁纸鸢 who also goes by the name 君子以泽 tells the story of the female lead, Shen Yali who has to break up with her boyfriend, Gu Xicheng during uni in exchange for a loan for her father's surgery. He thought she has became materialistic and decide to leave
  Spain where later she found out that the plane he took crashed. She eventually became a famous actress years later but was not happy, still trapped
  in the memory of her former boyfriend for the past 10 years until one day, she met a architect call Dante who resembled GXC at a friend's wedding.

  The story is rather long with lots of places description, flashbacks in between but the way the author weave the story doesn't bore and after finishing it, left one ache.

• The title reads a little bit awkward when we use Missing but the chinese name is actually very, very pretty. It describes a 思念 (Missing or I prefer to use Longing) that is so intense and so suffocating that it has become a city. This really emphasizes how powerful this longing is.
  Just in case this spoils it for anyone...
  [spoiler]Initially, this city kind of seems like a jail to me because they are unable to escape it. They are constantly living in their yearning for each other. Everything that they see reminds them of the days they've shared with one another; a fountain pen, a random couple on the street, the beach. Everything triggers a memory from the past. It is so vivid and the feelings are so intense that it engulfs them. The city is both metaphorical and figurative in this case because the respective physical they live in are full of things that are able to trigger this yearning but at the same time the yearning has also become so great a force that it is as big as a city (that they cannot walk out of).[/spoiler]

  I think the title of the novel is very suitable because it is bitter sweet. The idea of yearning becoming a city or constantly longing for someone is very bleak but at the same time, there is this intense passion and love. The majority of the novel made my heart ache but it was so captivating that I couldn't put it down.
