Adaptation

Many Chinese romance novels had or will be adapted into dramas. Some books are in the process of being filmed while some book copyrights have been sold. There are also quite a few finished stock waiting to be broadcast.  The popular ones or with well-known cast will usually have English subtitles. Whereas the less popular ones or with less well-known cast might not have English subtitles.

A lot of novels especially those with drama adaptations or president text have also been drawn as manhua and translated into English. Donghua which is akin to anime is less common due to the high cost involved. They usually utilize the manhua. Some have also been posted on Youtube with English subtitles.

Hi SIL, thanks for this website. This page with the drama and the english translation of books and the respective links are great thought out for users. I like the books of Tong Hua, Fei Wo Si Chun and Meng Xiao Xi. I hope that you and many others will continue to translate the books into English and keep updating us on new dramas which have been adapted from books.
Would be good if you can include in the titles of these books and dramas in pinyin.
Once again keep up the good work!

Do you know if ‘three lives three worlds, ten miles of peach blossoms’ or ‘the pillow book’ would be adapted into a drama?

Now I am crying not because of the story but because I shouldn t have read the google translation. I got the core of the story but I lost so much of the writing and the emotional parts of the story.
I will never ever read a google translation of a book.
Now I am going to look for the vietnamese translation or wait for the english translation or go and get hanja class. lol
