   I finished reading this novel.the relationship between Yun qian meng and the Chu fei yang (the left prime minister) is cute and sweet.Its a happy ending.

   Am ploughing through the Chinese ebook with my minimal Chinese after picking up the English translation (Maybe the author of this site should move this translation to under hiatus instead of ongoing because I think the translator probably got caught up with real life and might not be continuing the translation anymore?) …

   What I really liked about this novel is how the main leads keep trouncing all the villains around them and getting the upper hand. Who said that for a drama or novel to be interesting you must have a doormat heroine suffering countless abuse making readers/viewers frustrated? They are such an intelligent power couple together and best of all no mercies for those who don’t deserve them never mind who they are! Wish they would make this into a drama.

   My first post here and thank you for this site which helps me to discover interesting c-novels which I wouldn’t have known of otherwise. =)

   AND I TOTALLY AGREE!! it is quite annoying when the heroine suffers a bunch of abuse and pretends to be all forgiving. TOTALLY SHIPPING THE POWER COUPLE TOO!!!!

   My fave character is the male leads grandpa (Chu Wang). he is so damn adorable especially when he is with the female lead. I love how hes adorable/silly vs intelligent/serious at the right times. I wanna give him a pack of almonds and pat him on the head….

   Wow! This novel is full of amazing characters – so many male leads that have their own redeeming qualities. It is really interesting and there are plenty of super sweet “aw” moments.

   The audiobooks don’t cover the entire story so eventually you’d have to start reading the ebook. I finished the audiobooks and started to read the actual ebook but it is a very, very long novel. I think that it will take quite some time to finish! Lots of interesting twists and little plot arcs that help with the over arching plot.

    SPOILER – 苏姨娘 becomes pregnant. She pins her hopes on a son, but she experiences a difficult birth (the female lead finds an old maid who witnessed the death of her mother & twin brother at 苏姨娘 ‘s direction and makes sure that 苏姨娘 knows that the maid is now in her home; the female lead’s grandmother hates 苏姨娘 but returns to the estate because the female lead’s father needs to prove his filial piety as an official and makes a mess during the birth), and her daughter accidentally twists the son’s arm off while trying to drag him out of her.

    The female lead’s father is…furious at the disfigurement of his long-awaited son. The female lead becomes the “favourite” daughter because she let the grandmother do the dirty work (visiting 苏姨娘’s home during the birth and harassing the midwives, etc.) and didn’t directly do/say anything.

    The 海君主 is pledged in a treaty marriage to a foreign prince. I didn’t keep reading after the leads got married, so I don’t know if the marriage actually took place.

    I honestly never expected myself to survive such a LONG book since I tried reading a book of similar length and eventually gave up. I did not expect much when I first started reading this book but I ended up being so surprised because I found “gold”!

    楚王妃 is a really really great book! I kept on thinking how in the world did the author managed to write a book of such great quality (to me). The main character, 楚王妃, is a woman of great wit, strength and endurance. It takes quite a while before you reach the love story between her and 楚王 (there are hints here and there before their love story but it’s not much because they don’t really interact that much), but I can assure you that you will be greatly entertained with how 楚王妃 handle her enemies within her own household. I was totally and greatly impressed by her.

    A lot of drama, but what you will see is not break-ups or misunderstandings, instead it would be how the couple work together and get rid of their enemies (they are a really sweet and lovely couple). The author not only focuses on the love story between 楚王妃 and 楚王, she also weaves the story of the court battle in.

    If you understand Chinese, don’t be daunted by the length of the book and give it a try. I can assure you that 楚王妃 is a book that is worth your time and energy.

    If anyone knows where to buy this book please do tell me… I tried finding it online but it’s like out of stock and I have limited info on ordering Chinese books online…

    First time I felt compelled to leave a comment here. The author’s style was a little annoying at first (unnecessarily detailed and repeated description of each flourish, gesture, maid’s curtseying, maidens blushing), and I didn’t like how each paragraph ended with an exclamation mark (!!). I waded through all that only cos of the many good reviews of this book. Managed to persevere past the marriage between the leads, but the book and plot twists seems endless. Am now considering giving up although I am at chapter 183. To know that there are another 200+ chapters makes me wonder if I should go spend my time on another book instead.

    Hi! I am new to the site. Happened to chance upon this and decided to try the recommended text. Took me a fortnight before I finished the entire book! Haha. Nearly gave up halfway at chapter 164.
    I like the story for its two leads who are active participants in the marriage and not a typical damsel in distress story. Although towards the end, the plot can be a tad convoluted, it does present a good read. Am now searching for a new book to read. Any recommendations?

    I’ve been listening to the audiobook, and so far, I am up to chapter 183 of the audiobook. Phew! This story is long, and I even skipped the first 49 chapters and started listening at chapter 50! Anyway, I am amazed at the endless subplots and millions of characters.

    It seems like almost all the nobility, whether male or female, in the story are gorgeous people, especially the women. Every new female character is described as beautiful to the point that she could bring about the downfall of a country. I find it interesting, though, that all these women, with the exception of Yun Qian Meng (female lead), Qu Fei Qin (her older female cousin), and Consort Rong, are backstabbing, malicious, status-hungry people. Of course, the female lead is no angel herself. She’s like an extremely delicate, beautiful bloom, but filled with poison if you tick her off. 😛

    The men all sound like handsome, dashing guys, which I have no problem with. 😀 Almost every woman in the story wants to marry either Chu Fei Yang or Chen Wang. 😛

    I’m not sure how long I can persist with this story. It’s just so long! Can someone who has already finished the entire story give me some spoilers?

    1) I’m a bit curious about Chen Wang. He seems to deeply regret his decision to break off his betrothal with Yun Qian Meng. What happens to Chen Wang in the end? Does he marry someone else? How much in love is he with the female lead?

    2) What happens to Rong Yun He (the third male lead who also likes Yun Qian Meng) in the end? I like him, too. He is such a gentleman.

    3) When does the main couple get married? Does Chen Wang try to stop the wedding?

    4) What happens to Qu Fei Qin? I think she falls in love with a young imperial physician. Do they have a happy ending?

    5) What happens to Qu Chang Qin? I quite like him, too.

    6) Can someone give a brief summary of what happens after the main couple marries?

    I know Su Qing deserves all the retribution which came her way, but my heart breaks at how her evil deeds have fallen on her baby son’s shoulders. 🙁 Prime Minister Yun is such a horrible father. How could he let the vindictive grandfather take care of the baby? The baby is better off in the care of a hired nanny who is independent of any of the concubines’ rule.

    @Melanie Here you go! 1. He became the Emperor but was eventually overthrown by Chu Wang (Chu Fei Yang). He was locked up by the new Emperor, Han Che, in a temple, never to leave the place. But he was released by Han Che in the end and while riding a horse he almost knocked onto Qian Meng’s daughter who was running across the path. He saw Yun He with her, and realised it’s Qian Meng’s daughter, and when Yun He ran with Qian Meng’s daughter in his arms, he went to chase them. It’s quite funny actually when I read the scene. That’s the end of the novel. Nope, he did not marry anyone else, but he kinda did finish the wedding ceremony with Qian Meng’s evil sister. As to why and what happened, I think you can continue the novel haha, sorry some of the parts are quite hazy for me and im too lazy to scroll back. How much in love… very to the point of it being some sort of obsession. 2. Yun He threw all his attention into his business after knowing Qian Meng and Chu Wang left the capital and travel around the world (disappeared). But at the end, when Chu Nan Wang brought Qian Meng’s daughter out to play, she met him and was attracted to his looks and interacted with him, and that’s when he found out Qian Meng and Chu Wang had returned. 3. Chapter 119 of the novel. Yes he did! That part was quite a good twist for me! 4. Fei Qing married the Han Che in the end and became the empress. They are very in love, in fact Han Che fell in love with her very long ago. 5. Qu Chang Qin kinda fell in love with Han Yu, Han Che’s sister. 6. Cause there’s a lot of stuff there, so im not sure which haha!

    I’m up to the part when Chen Wang had his plans to marry Qian Meng ruined by Chu Fei Yang. Haha. It’s pretty exciting. I don’t understand how Chu Fei Yang managed to switch out Yun Qian Meng and replace her with Yun Ruo Xue. I don’t think I have any more time to listen to this very long novel. Time to go back to work. 🙁 Can you spoil me on what Chen Wang does after Yun Qian Meng and Chu Fei Yang marry? Does he continue trying to steal Qian Meng? If yes, what does he do? Or does he give up since she’s now married to someone else and he no longer wants someone else’s wife? Why in the world was Chen Wang trying to chase after Rong Yun He and Qian Meng’s daughter in the end? Was he trying to capture the little girl? As for Han Che being Emperor, I’m surprised but not shocked. I can already tell he is an intelligent man who has the potential for greatness by listening to the parts on the Imperial Examinations. I like Qu Fei Qing, and while I am glad she found someone who loves her as much as she loves him, I don’t really want her to become Empress and stuck in a Back Palace struggle with thousands of concubines. Can you tell me what happens to the Bei Qi princess Qi Ling Er? She’s a very annoying character and I hope she gets her comeuppance. (Actually, almost every female character is annoying in the story, except for Qian Meng and Fei Qing.) And what happens to Hai Tian princess? The last I heard, she was betrothed to the Bei Qi crown prince, but afterward, she just sort of dropped out of the story. What about Hai Chen Xi (spelling?), Hai Tian’s brother? He seems like a very interesting character, but there is not much mention on him.

    1. Well he didn’t give up on Qian Meng, no matter how hard his mother tried to get him to marry, he kept on refusing to, almost to the point of falling out with her. Basically he would always keep on eyeing Qian Meng every time he sees her, and engages in word battle with Fei Yang out of jealousy. He did try to plot to steal her at the end I think, when he became the Emperor, as to how, I really can’t remember! 2. Here’s what was written, “…he could give up the country and the throne, but Yun Qian Meng is the only one he could not let go of. Seeing the child now, how could he give up?” What I thought was Qian Meng’s daughter is the only lead that could help him find Qian Men, since she and Fei Yang disappeared from the capital and lived in a place nobody knows, so I guess he was going to get them to bring him to see her. 3. I also did not like the idea of Fei Qing competing with other concubines for Han Che’s love, because looking at her personality, I believe she would most likely be set up by those concubines and she did not appear to be the kind of woman to cling on Han Che and think of ideas to get his affections. But such is the fate of women during the ancient times… Not everyone is as lucky and blissful as Yun Qian Meng, being able to get her wish and promise of 一生一世一双人. I just imagine that Han Che only has Fei Qing as his wife and did not marry any other women hahaha! 4. If im not wrong, there isn’t any mention of what happened to her. I think she just returned to Bei Qi to live her own life. 5. I forgot… was she killed or executed by the prince? I think she was! If I remember correctly… sorry if it’s wrong! But she lived quite a hard life there, because the crown prince has a lover of his own, which is Yun He’s sister, the concubine of the Emperor that Fei Yang serves. 6. Yep, Hai Chen Xi! He plotted to win the throne together with his father, Hai Wang, but failed. I think he was let go by the new Emperor despite his crimes, because there isn’t any mention why he was able to move around freely and leave the capital. He then left the capital to release the ashes of his father. There isn’t any mentions of his plans after that, but I assume he would roam around the world to search for his purpose of living. He’s followed around by Xia Hou An Er, the princess of the Xia Hou clan, relative of Fei Yang from his mother’s clan. She loves him a lot, but he doesn’t seem to reciprocate her feelings, but I think he does like her, just that it may take quite a long while for her to melt his heart.

    I think the author did a good job developing Yun Qian Meng’s character, but she neglected the men in the story. I admit I haven’t listened beyond the leading couple’s wedding and there are many hundreds of chapters to go, but up to this point, the first and second male leads are still not that well developed. Chu Fei Yang is semi developed, although I would like to understand his mind more. Right now, he is just a charming, handsome prime minister, very accomplished despite his young age, and sort of a “smiling tiger,” who smiles charmingly but can bite you without warning. However, I don’t know much about the Chu Fei Yang behind closed doors – who he is, what his family is really like, what he likes, what makes him angry, what makes him sad, etc. As for Chen Wang, I know even less about him, and right now, he seems a bit two-dimensional. I just know that he regrets his decision to break his betrothal to Qian Meng, but I don’t even truly understand why he suddenly “loves” her so much. I sense that he is attracted to her strong and intelligent personality, but he has too little novel time and I don’t quite grasp why he would go to such lengths to possess her. It’s almost like he can’t stand the fact that a person he once “owned” now belongs to someone else. Quite honestly, for someone so proud and chauvinistic as Chen Wang, I would think he would prefer a pretty but dumb flower vase who would hang onto his every word instead of a spitfire like Qian Meng. From what I know of Han Che so far, he seems very likable. However, great power changes people. A commoner husband who professes to love his wife forever will likely forget such a vow when faced with the temptation of other beauties and the need for political alliances through marriage. What Emperor has remained faithful to his first wife? The Empress would fortunate to still have some bit of her husband’s affection after he marries other younger, more beautiful women. What makes the situation more pitiful is that she has to smile and pretend that she enjoys sharing her husband with the other concubines. 一生一世一双人 is not that hard to abide by, if a man truly respects and loves his wife. If the situation were reversed, how would he feel if his wife had many male lovers, and he is expected to smile while his wife is in bed with another man? Really?! Concubine Rong is a spy for Bei Qi??? That is one big shocking spoiler! How did she meet the Bei Qi crown prince? Are they in love? But then again, how much love could he have for her if he could let his woman marry and sleep in another man’s bed? So the Bei Qi crown prince married Hai Tian for what purpose? He wanted Hai Wang’s support against the emperor? And why did he execute Hai Tian? Did her spoiled personality finally tick him off so much that he just wants to shut her up?

    I agree with you that the male characters are not that well developed, you will get to know more about Chu Fei Yang’s family in the later part of the story. Also in the later part, you will perhaps be able to get to know more about Chu Fei Yang as a character. But since the book itself is named Chu Wang Fei, it’s no surprise that everyone revolves around Yun Qian Meng, and the male characters are there for the purpose of developing her character. One male character that I found most intriguing and I thought the author really did quite a job developing was Hai Chen Xi. Though as compared to some of the male characters, he did not appear as much, I really love his character! I was also honestly quite bewildered by the sudden love Chen Wang has for Qian Meng, that was why I said his love towards her leaned towards obsession. I honestly believe that he does love her, but most of all, I think he is merely obsess with the idea of getting her, and this is especially so when she slipped from his clutches right at the beginning. I agree, Han Che as an Emperor, will never be able to remain faithful towards Fei Qing, since there will definitely be a need for political marriages to help solidify his power. I believe that while Han Che can never remain faithful, his affection and love towards Fei Qing would unlikely waver. I do not believe that a man who is willing to sacrifice his life to protect a woman he loves, will turn and love another (but then again the human heart is unpredictable…). Which is why sometimes Han Che and Fei Qing reminds me of Emperor Liu Xiu and Yin Li Hua. Not in the ancient times. Everything revolves around the male, so its unlikely they will put themselves in their wife’s shoes. It’s a common occurrence and almost a right for the males to have many wives, to the point whereby people will find it weird and unheard of for the male to have only one wife. No no she is not a spy hahaha! They met while she was still married to the Emperor, she saved his life and they fell in love during the period when he was recuperating. He does love her a lot, you will have to read to find out! I really cannot remember, but the reason he married her shouldn’t be far from the fact that he needed to consolidate his position as Crown Prince. I really cannot remember whether he really did execute her or kill her! I will try to find out! It’s buried among the thousands and thousands of chapters hahaha!

    I read up to the part where Chu Fei Yang thwarted his father’s nefarious plans, and then skipped to the end. Too long! Nice plot twists, but like Curio, the overly detailed descriptions wore me down. I want to go back and read the back story of Concubine Rong and the Bei Qi Crown Prince. Does anyone know what chapter that is in?

    If I remember correctly, Bei Qi Crown Prince set her and the first prince of Bei Qi (the crown prince’s rival) up to seem like they were caught in the amorous situation. So she was executed for treachery and for trying to sow discord among the Bei Qi royal family, while the first prince was punished. The Bei Qi Crown Prince cunningly killed 2 birds with a stone.

    I’m so glad you like the novel. I love it as well although I never finished because of its length but I have recently picked it up again and I intend on finishing it this time. The audiobook is in Chinese and there are almost 400 episodes out already but it’s still not finished so unfortunately, at some point you’re going to have to read it instead.

    So, Bei Qi’s princess kept trying to remove Yun Qian Meng’s mask (she pretended to be sick, and drew stuff on her face) and was in general being really rude. The thing is, she is a princess, so there was a limit to what Yun Qian Meng could do, and her refusal was being noted by others, such as Bei Qi’s officials, as disrespectful. After all, she is just the daugther of a prime minister, which is not even close to a princess. That is when Chu Fei Yang said something like, “Oh? A prime minister’s daughter is not enough?” (I’m vaguely remembering this detail) and then went to ask the emperor for Yun Qian Meng’s hand. The emperor was of course not so happy about that, since that would mean the two prime ministers would be aligned by marriage. He wasn’t the only one, Hai Tian was just as pissed, but for a completely different reason. The Dowager Empress was also against it, though I yet to know why since I haven’t finished the book. In order to refuse, but not actually piss off Chu Fei Yang, the emperor tried to force Yun Qian Meng’s father to refuse. However, Chu Wang appeared, and grandfather and grandson pretty much was giving the eye to Yun Qian Meng’s father. He considered the fact that the two probably were 100% confident they would get his daughter to marry into the family, so he finally agreed.

    So, the Yun Family members were sent to jail due to an accusation that Yun Qian Meng’s father helped his nephews win the exam (which was not true). There Chen Wang told Yun Qian Meng to marry him, otherwise he will get rid of the Rong Family (he already surrounded the estate). She agrees, but then of course, our heroine isn’t the type to just sit there and do nothing. Thus, she has her underlings to set a “fire”. When Chen Wang got there, he rescues Yun Qian Meng. The day of the marriage, Chu Fei Yang crashes the marriage. However the two already did their bows (heaven, parents, each other). So, he wants to have a drink with the bride, requesting her to unveil herself. Chen Wang was more than happy for her to, just so he can see Chu Fei Yang jealous and pissed off face. Sadly, for him, when the veil fell off, the bride wasn’t Yun Qian Meng, but her annoying sister XDDDDD. It came out that Chu Fei Yang’s people not only set a fire to rescue her out, but also replaced her. They put those realistic masks on her sister’s face. Yun Qian Meng didn’t expected this, since she just wanted to escape, but as if Chu Fei Yang would let anyone get away from trying to steal his wife.

    I’m following rosyfantasy’s translation of this and the latest chapter out is 69 which is when Yun Qian Meng goes to Hai Wang’s mansion. And omg the curiosity is killing me! Not sure how many chapters till we get to the showdown with Hai Tian but if someone can help with a few questions I’d be really grateful(I’m dying from really wanting to know):

    1.It seems Yun Qian Meng is quite skillful with musical instruments. How good is she and does she play in public often in later chapters?
    2.What happens in Hai Wang fu(Hai Tian v YQM)?
    3.I read somewhere that Chu Fei Yang says something about how he’ll only have YQM as his wife. Not sure if it’s at a feast or something. Can someone describe that scene?

    Ho!…it seems the reason her father went to jail and framed was because of her marriege??…But what happened to all the female members of the family (like her 2 sisters and cousin?…did they go nto jail too?…if not where did they live?)
    Also did she get her drowny when she married into the chu family? (with all the kiddnaping and jail time going on i doubt they had time xDD)

    1. YQM is in afct not so good with musical instruments. She only learned a little when her mother forced hee. But she chose the right song masking her skills. Everyone believed that she is better than hai tian while thats not true.
    2. Hai Tian will try to fall into the lake pretendinf YQM pushed her but YQM saw through her scheme and fell into the water herslef making Hai Tian the suspect of pushing her.
    3. The scene where Chu Fei Yang say that is way more later in book. At that time they are already married but girls kept coming at Chu Fei Yang.

    Actually I don’t think her sister consented to anything. She sort of found herself in that situation, and tried to go with it. After all, it would mean she married higher than YQM and to one of the most sought out bachelor.

    At least that is what I took from it. I haven’t finished the book yet, but I’m 75% through, so if there is anymore information later on, then I guess I’m wrong.

    as 1314dreamer said, the whole family (without her stepmother Su and little brother (stepmother su’s child; they forgot them somehow) went to jail. All the girls went to a jail for women. About how she married CFY: ChenWang exchanged ‘her’ with a daughter of a business family. BUT ‘her’ is actually her sister, because CFY had put a mask on her sis. (No idea if it correct). CFY crashes ChenWang and ‘her’s wedding. In the same night (after the wedding crash and a trip to the palace) CFY and YQM hold a small wedding with only YQM maternal family and grandpa Chu. about how could she marry CFY: She is the daughter of on of the primeminister and she was promised to him before she went to jail. And CFY wants to marry her. So even if it is not possible CFY is going to make it possible. Chen Wang sent her back home and does not recognise her as his wife. if her father was cleared of the accusation I can’t remember. CFY helped him to get out of the prison and the two cousins are banned from the exam and furture exams.

    Cfy got yqm out if jail and replaced yqm with her sis. Chenwang set the jail on fire in order to get sis out of jail while thinking sis was yqm. The whole threatening YQM into marriage happened before the whole the getting out of jail story. YQM was in chu wang fu (grandpa chu’s place) preparing for the wedding (change her clothes, putting on makeup etc) . Do you really think that CFY will ask for permission?     Chen Wang threatened Yun Qian Meng BEFORE the fire, the fire was set by Chu Fei Yang’s subordinate to rescue and switch out Yun Qian Meng. It is not clear whether or not Chen Wang went to talk to the fake Yun Qian Meng after rescuing her double. All we know is that he had no idea the switch happened until the day of the wedding. Chu Fei Yang did not get permission first. How he managed to not get in trouble, we don’t know. We can only assume he managed to talk his way out of it when he went to the Emperor afterwards and requested to move up the marriage date.

    @Treenymph I love 清朝 novels, especially about Hai Lanzhu and Huang Taiji! The novels that I am going to recommend don’t really link a lot to the real history and is more about their romance story.
    海月明珠 is quite a famous novel about the 2, it’s a must read Huang Taiji and Hai Lanzhu novel. Other such novels are 你的怀，我的一生 and 世间情深至兰极. All 3 novels are quite good, to me. I couldn’t find any other good ones after searching for quite awhile since I am very picky with my choice of novels. Those 3 are definitely 无虐宠文, if I am not wrong, because I hate 虐文.

    Just want to canvass some opinion on this book. Is it just me or do you find the characters behaved with unnecessary cruelty? I know this a work of fiction but after reading a few chapters after the wedding of the leads I couldn’t continue because of this. To me, what happened to yqm sister, su yiniang son, yiyi and su yiniang (as much as I dislike them) and others and the reactions (or the lack of any reactions) of the main leads and other main characters to these events make them inhumane and to me not very likeable. There was no forgiveness nor empathy. I’m sorry if this post has offended anyone.

    Eh, I lacked sympathy for them. First of all, the main leads are by no means kind people, so why should they feel sorry for those that either tried to murder them or use them. They would have smiled if the same thing happenend to Yun Qian Meng. There wasn’t a moment where those antagonist showed any humane qualities for me to feel for them. If there were times that they did, then maybe YQM would have not been like that. Also, it wasn’t like YWM didn’t feel sorry for Yiyi, it’s just that, she kind of ruined it the moment that girl tried to force herself onto Chu Fei Yang.

    First, he called over another official (I have no idea how to translate his rank or job, I just know who deals with cases), which means not only will it be recorded that Yiyi was no longer a virgin, but if the accusation was proven false, Yiyi and her father (who had join in with the claim) would be sentenced to jail/killed/sent afar/etc. Next, he gathered all evidence proving he was innocent, from the time in which he entered the capital not matching the day in which Yiyi said she got raped, to the guy who actually raped her. After showing he was falsely accused, he additional got Yiyi to marry the guy who raped her (and was about to get killed because it was not the first time he raped female prisoners) and had her sentence be released to a far away area (I’m not sure how to translate this, I just know this is a pretty serious sentence filled with hardship). What happens to Yiyi when she was later sent to prison and shared the cell with her rapist for a few days…was horrific. I don’t think Chu Fei Yang was part of that at all, nor do I think he would approve of those actions — he just wouldn’t care too much. Lets just say, I felt bad for Yiyi when I got to that part. I also didn’t think she should have married that guy. However, my empathy for her was not due to Yiyi’s character, since she never really showed any redeeming qualities, but due to being a woman, I find it hard to fill much joy about sending a young girl back into the arms of her rapist who left a traumatic experience on her. It was not like YQM’s sister’s cousin who was also raped. That girl not only did not remember any of it (cause she was unconscious), she had intended that to happen to YQM and later on tried to use her pregnancy to get a better place in her future husband’s family. Yiyi came back from her first trip in prison completely traumatized and was an empty shell lying on her bed. I won’t be surprised that she tried to cover up that memory by tricking herself to believe the guy who had raped her was the amazing CFY, the guy she showed interest in. If that was really the case, then yeah, I suppose I would feel somewhat sorry for her. Yiyi was annoying, but pretty much harmless, even if she might one day become as cruel has Suyi Niang. So, when I got to the part where she was sent back to prison and her rapist was pretty much torturing her, I cringed. Not so much out of sympathy, but out of shock.

    I’m not sure if you remember, but YQM’s younger sister (the one we all hate) had a cousin who tried several times to put dirt onto YQM’s reputation. When YQM was imprisoned, she and Yiyi shared a cell, and that cousin knew that. She reallly hates YQM for pretty much causing her to lose her chastity (though, if she hadn’t tried to do the same to YQM, this wouldn’t have happened), so she paid this guy to rape her and Yiyi who had recently caused her to miscarry. However, YQM was rescued by CFY’s subordinates, so the one who got raped was Yiyi. When YQM realized Yiyi was trying to put the blame onto CFY, well, you can imagine she was pissed inside, but outwardly calm and cold. Any sympathy she probably had for the girl disappeared. If you are wondering if she actually believed there was something going on between the two, then no, she didn’t believe Yiyi at all.

    So did Yiyi survive the second imprisonment? What happened to her after that? I do feel a bit of pity for Yiyi after reading your spoiler, but I also believe in karma. If she didn’t try to frame Chu Fei Yang for the rape during her first imprisonment, then she wouldn’t have ended up as such. I guess in the end, she was just a spoiled, self-centered teenager with an unlikeable personality who tried to step on a dangerous tiger’s (Chu Fei Yang’s) paws and got torn to shreds. I think the power couple of Chu Fei Yang and Yuan Qian Meng would not have worked out if one person was too softhearted, for that softhearted person would eventually find the other more ruthless person too hard to live with. Luckily, they both had similar philosophies. I like them a lot, for I despise wimps who allow others to step all over them. What happened to Yuan Ruo Xue (Yuan Qian Meng’s second sister)? I know she agreed to marry Cheng Wang in Qian Meng’s place. But what happened to her after that? And what happened to Yuan Ruo Xue’s cousin, the one who hired the man to rape Qian Meng in prison? I must say that Cheng Wang seemed pretty incompetent here. I thought he would have better protected Qian Meng in prison. As a qin wang, shouldn’t he have more power? He didn’t even know that Qian Meng was rescued by the daring and unstoppable Chu Fei Yang. If Chu Fei Yang hadn’t rescued her in time, she would have been raped, like Yiyi. Does anything falter Chu Fei Yang? Haha.

    I haven’t finished the book, but the part I got to said that she died on the journey, you know, the sentence she was given? Yeah, I really like the power couple, and frankly they are significantly softer compared to Shu Nv You Du. Now that couple was significantly more ruthless. Yun Ruo Xue was sent back by Chen Wang. Yun Qian Meng’s father wanted to also get a connection to Chen Wang, so he tried to get Yun Ruo Xue make Yun Qian Meng go sent her back to Chen Wang. Of course, the idiot girl messes things up, because she apparently doesn’t know that when one tries to get something from another, you shouldn’t insult them. So instead, Yun Qian Meng has her bounded and sent to Chen Wang under the name of her father instead of her’s. Chen Wang obviously doesn’t accepts, and locks her out, though not before taking off the wedding dress she was wearing (he had picked it out for Yun Qian Meng) leaving her in her inner clothes. Some hobos saw her and raped her. We find out later, this was set up by the housekeeper of the Yun Family in order to get revenge. Remember on the trip to get the grandmother, Su Yinaing had this guy try to rape Yun Qian Meng? It was for him. Yun Qian Meng later on sets her up so Yun Ruo Xue would accidentally piss their father off. He then said that she should just get married to some poor family, be it as a legal wife or concubine. However, I haven’t finished the book, so I don’t know if this really happened or not. The cousin’s family also gets sent to jail after the Yun Family gets released (her father did kind of pissed off the two prime ministers and a prince). As for Chen Wang not protecting Yun Qian Meng, well, he thought the girl he took out was her, so whatever happens to the prisoners were none of his concern.

    The housekeeper wanted revenge because the guy sent to rape yqm on the trip was murdered but su qing did as if nothing happened. She didnt gave money to appease the family and didnt show some sympathy for his death. That guy was a distant family of the housekeeper. I think the housekeeper blamed sq for his death and he felt guilty towards the guy’s family, thats why he took revenge on yrx su qings daughter since su qing already died.

    CFY does have a father who was sent to the 边关 if I am not wrong. He and his new family came back shortly after CFY and YQM got married. He fought (not in the open) with CFY for the position of 王爷 which CFY’s grandfather was preparing to retire from. The subsequent events which involved CFY’s father and his new family actually took up quite a big part of the story!

    Hi! I just start reading the novel, but I kinda like Yun Yan in the story. So I would like to know what happen to her at the end? Does she have a good ending? or she just turned bad at the end??

    I was reading the synopsis and it said that YQM and CFY get seperated during a war
    Does that really happen? (i dont want them to be apart T.T) YQM would be defenceless!

    Also does YQM get pregnant in the story (i mean do we get to see her pregnacy?)

    Yes they do. And yes she does get pregnant, you get to see her hive birth too, and CFY rushes back from the war as fast as he could for her. Chen Wang takes a liking to her daughter in the last chap I think. Which I honestly fins creepy lol.

    @sparklingdawnlights @bluep Chen Wang didn’t take a liking to YQM’s daughter, he just felt that she was the only lead for him to find YQM due to his love/obsession towards YQM. I translated that part among the earlier comments, scroll up to see 🙂

     @bluep CFY wasn’t present when YQM gave birth because he was in a war against Chen Wang at that time. I am not sure whether he was there throughout her pregnancy, can’t remember, but I know that during her last few months of pregnancy he wasn’t there because the capital was in a mess as Hai Wang raised a rebellion, Chen Wang succeeded the throne and the Emperor fled from the palace, so CFY had to settle the mess and ensure that Han Che can succeed the throne. But he did came to rescue YQM when she was in danger very very late in her pregnancy, but left again to go to war with Chen Wang. @pink Seeing as to how much CFY loves and dotes on YQM, I bet he will. Even though he wasn’t there when she gave birth, after the war with Chen Wang, he insisted on returning to YQM’s side even when he was seriously injured. Apparently before he was about to faint, he forced Chu Grandpa to promise to bring him back to where YQM is immediately. He lost consciousness only after Chu Grandpa promised him. @Mikleo This is a 1v1 HE novel with absolutely no cheating between the main couple, so don’t worry! 🙂 CFY dotes on YQM a lot and in the novel, he personally said that he will only have YQM as his wife.

     I’m surprised how popular this book is, does it get better? I tried reading 20 chapters but it is written so poorly and the story doesn’t make any sense to me. How can the protagonist assimilate into the world so quickly? She tries to be all smart and witty and the characters are all shocked about how smart she is, meanwhile I don’t see what there is too wow about..The writing lacks description – I cannot articulate an image in my head since it’s so fast-faced. Seems like a novel targeted for a younger audience :/

     I dont think the current emperor has an heir and that’s one of the keys to stability. So the Chen Wang could potentially take over the throne if not by inheritance then by force. Even though she would be the Dowager Queen, Chen Wang’s mother will be mother to the king and thus more powerful than her. It would benefit the Queen Dowager if the seating Queen was YCM or QFQ then she could still have control of the royal family when they give birth to a son.
