For generations, the Su family has only boys. So when there is finally, finally, a girl born into the family, how can she not be the precious pearl in 10,000 eyes? If you guard her with your palm, what if she gets squashed? If you put her in your mouth, what if she melts?
What nonsense! Her father General Su is a famous figure across 6 countries and even if she is a girl, she may very well be a heroine who may not lose out to men.
Still, the folks in the capital have yet to reach a conclusion on what Ms Su is like after 16 years. Who knows? Perhaps they can… ask the pirates?
Main Characters
Su Su (aka Xiao Shu) – a spunky 16-year old, who left home in search of adventure….. I mean in search of a treasure to give her parents as a thank-you present for bring her up. She decides to try her luck at the eastern seas, so she disguises herself as a young man, joins a fishing crew, and ends up kidnapped by a group of ….pirates? Huh? Are there still pirates after the Su Navy has eradicated their nest nearly 20 years ago? Just what are they up to?
Mo Yuan – an revered guest on Pirate Island. You can see no emotions in his eyes whatsoever although he can probably see through everything, including the young ‘man’ who is too extraordinary to be a fisherman. He is well-versed in stratagems and is probably a martial arts expert as well although it is very difficult to tell with Li Yang around.
Li Yang – Mo Yuan’s bodyguard. He is like invisible most of the time but has a knack to appear by his master’s side within split seconds when summoned.
Sang Nuan – pirate’s daughter. She is highly valued by the pirate chief, probably for her smarts or for her ability to heal. She has the airs of a nobleman’s daughter (is she really a pirate?), has very fair hands, and does not know any martial arts.
Ye Lie – another captive on Pirate Island who was brought to the island about one month before Xiao Shu. He is very capable and organized, so the pirates let him assist in manning the captives. His martial arts skills are directly proportionate with the danger of each situation.

The first part of the story is very exciting. Feng Su (aka Xiao Shu) gets captured by pirates and she manages to keep a low profile until her lady boss nearly gets raped and she has no choice but to rescue her. For a lowly slave, she quickly rise up the ranks in everyone hearts with her wit, astuteness and keen sense of honor, as she tries to unravel the mystery surrounding Pirate Island.
The second half of the story is unfortunately draggy and I skimmed though nearly 20-30 chapters of booby traps, poisons, and mystical stones although there are interesting developments on the romance end. She is blind to romantic displays (like her mom, perhaps) and the guy who fall in love is her is really very poor thing, especially when she has literally an army behind her consisting of her father, mother, powerful aunts and uncles (including the Prime Minister and Emperor), cousins, captains, clan elders, etc. Ay, such is Feng Su, the righteous, courageous, precious, one-an-only Missy of the Feng family.
Is there a link to read this novel in Vietnamese?
I did a quick google search but nothing came up. This book should be called Hải đạo thiên kim or something similar if someone picks it up to translate.
Anyone have a link to the Vietnamese book for the third book of the mistaken marriage match about the harem (second sister and emperor)? I don't even know what it's called in Vietnamese. I really like the first two books in the series but can't seem to find the third book.
I'm sorry I don't have the Viet links for the third or fourth book.
On a seperate matter, I'm searching for the 5th book n read that the author is starting to post the story "Pursuit of the Muderer in Yue Liao" (越撩追凶) from Apr 2015 onwards.
I found the link to this novel: http://vietphrase.com/go/www.123yq.com/read/29/29405/
Can´t believe there´s already fourth book. So excited!
Ya, I am trying to find “Pursuit of the Muderer in Yue Liao” (越撩追凶) too!
I just finished this book. Feels like the ending is too absurp. Much prefer those 2 earlier books
I read the translation of the first two of this series. Shouldn't it be "Su Feng" and the "Su" family, as her father was "Su Ling" not "Feng Ling"
