She is a honorably retired SWAT officer with meritorious deeds. She is a dashing detective who breaks cases like a god. A strange golden board with eight divinatory trigrams brought her to different world. Even more ridiculous was, when she woke up, she was already a “gift” sent to general´s manor, that was respected for it´s military.
He is a grim god of war whose power overwhelms six countries. He is defender-general of the state with military power in hands. An imperial edict brought him a delicate concubine. He turned and left. After returning, his second in command and soldiers ignored him. Instead, they kept on saying “What does madam think?” When has general´s manor changed its owner?
Breaking cases, training soldiers, night attacks, suppressing bandits, street fights, counter-terrorism operations, naval battles – one after another appeared on stage. She played with flourish, yet he was a little unable to resist.
Fire beacon once again raised, with fire of war everywhere. Those pair of black eyes looked at each other from distance. She suddenly understood. It turned out she has long ago left her heart behind with him.

THis novel sounds great! thanks for the recommendation hamster428! is there a lot of modern references in the novel/ is the time travel a big part of the novel? (im not big fan of time travel) Is the ending HE?
thanks

Hi serendipity, so far I only got to chapter 5 of Inno’s translation and I really just remember her using modern workouts on the soldiers, like making them learn rock climbing and running for miles haha.
I’m Just tasked by peanuts to add novels that are being translated but not introduced on SSB yet. You shiuld join the discussion on Inno’s blog to find out more 🙂
I have been lurking around, but can’ help to support the book I like. It is refreshing to have a smart female lead that can make many mem tremble at the thought of her.
There is also an audio book on it. http://www.5tps.com/html/7783.html
Hi hamster and peanuts! Thanks for posting the novel in SSB.
Although I’m translating it, I have not actually finished reading this book yet. I read the novel as I edit the translations of Google Translate. I have cheated though and read the last chapter, so, I can at least tell Serendipity that the book has a very satisfying, happy ending!
Basically, based on the 6 chapters (including the prologue) I have read so far, the story is about Gu Yun, a police detective who died in a mysterious way in the modern times and time-travelled to an ancient Chinese era. She then happened to occupy the body of a 15-yr. old girl, named Qing Mo, who was against her will given as a tribute of her vassal kingdom to the bigger, more dominant kingdom of Qiong Yue. Qing Mo committed suicide just before she was delivered to Qiong Yue, hence the ensuing soul or body swap.
The fun and adventure of Gu Yun or Qing Mo started when she landed in the General Manor, the official residence of Qiong Yue’s Great General Su Ling. Qing Mo was bestowed as an imperial gift to Su Ling. This guy in his “ripe” age is still single, so the emperor granted him Qing Mo as a concubine, against his will as well.
I find this novel very enjoyable to read so far. There’s lots of action, humor and suspense as well. The heroine is a kick-ass type, cold and highly intelligent. You’ll find her already kicking 500 male butts quite early in the novel. Another interesting aspect of the book is the presence of two mystical swords which somehow bind the fates of our leads.
Well, I hope this short introduction piques the interest of some readers who I will gladly invite to visit the blog. Come and let’s enjoy reading together, albeit rather slowly, Gu Yun’s story.
It a HE for both girl who travel through time but the other sister whose a concubine of the emperor, things are a bit sad in her case.
Such a big fan of this book! The main female character really knows how to tame those Brutish guys. The audiobook is very well done!
I loved this book. Very recommended!
I managed to convert my sisters with this audiobook. Huhuhu, I’m so proud of myself!
Thanks for the recommendation. Had great fun reading this book! It was in its own way a very cute love story about two gruff, macho (in mentality), tougher than tough but utterly inexperienced in love people who find out that they just fit together very well.
Loved the female lead, who is charismatic, slightly sadistic in the way of the drill sergeant (she makes grown men cry and thinks that the earnest attempts of deadly soldiers to earn her praise is “cute”), and upright. She takes absolutely no shit. Male lead is not as interesting, but isn’t bad.
The book itself is relatively short, at only 40+ chapters, and gave me the sense that it should probably be read together with its two sisters for best effect. An interesting take on the well trodden time travel trope.
How come the Vietnamese book has 258 chapters according to the link above?
No idea, sorry! Perhaps it includes the sister books?
In the story, the main character becomes one of three sisters who are famous for their beauty and refinement / talents. Because they are born in a weak country, though, their parents are killed so their king can give them as gifts to a stronger country, and they destroy their good looks and then try to suicide – hence the souls of the main character and her good friend from modern times travelling through time to inhabit the bodies of two of them.
Qing Mo, the main character of this book, is the youngest sister. I think the second sister (whose soul is that of her forensic scientist friend from modern times) marries the premier of the stronger country, while the oldest sister (whose soul remains her own) becomes one of the favored concubines of the emperor.
Each of the sisters have their own books, but based on a quick google, even if you added up all the chapters you wouldn’t hit 258. They are relatively long though, so maybe the Vietnamese version breaks up the chapters into shorter ones?
So all three sisters are no longer beautiful? I can understand the premier and general being forced to marry scared, ugly women, but why would the emperor marry a woman who is no longer beautiful?
They didn’t marry the sisters straight away. For the sister who became a concubine of the Emperor, it’s mentioned in this book that she was first a serving lady in the palace, and only after that a “fei” (quite high ranking, I think, only coming after “guifei” and the Empress).
Not sure about the beautiful part. The three sisters gave themselves hideous scars and in this book, at least one person calls Qing Mo “chou nu” (ugly woman). But when Qing Mo / Gu Yun woke up in her new body and finally had a chance to look at herself, the scars were the part she liked the best.
I liked this novel but I felt like it needed a few more chapters to show how life was after the ****SPOILER***,
releasing of the spirits…
just cause im curious to know…
ANd cause I loved the novel so much I wish that there is more to read…
Just finished the third book (second sister who was sent to palace), the harem intrigue makes me feel exhausted mentally (I need some funny or romance with no angst books after this), but we will get to see Gu Yun and Zhuo Qing’ lifes after the end of first and second books.
The author wrote about their daughters too. In those books, there are glimpses into Zhuo Qing’s and Gu Yun’s happily-ever-afters.
For questions on how long is the book, I think I may have found the answer. I found 2 versions of all books in the “A Mistaken Match” and some websites like Kannu has the condensed version – like 40 chapters or so, while another website like book.sto.cc has 100+ chapters on the same story.
I see! Thought the book could’ve been better if it were longer. Thanks!!!
The 3 sisters of the Qing family are famous throughout the land for their beauty and talents and when their country is defeated, their lord send them as ‘gifts’ to Emperor. However, the second sister Qing Feng rather die than to become the concubine of a who indirectly caused their parents death so she incite her sisters to disfigure their faces and commit suicide together.
In the stories, all 3 men – Emperor, Prime Minister and General – are not bothered by the ‘X’ mark on their faces and even find them very beautiful. Even normal people are dazzled by the non-disfigured side of their faces and when matched with their kick-ass characters, the Prime Minister and General have no chance although the Emperor is a hard nut to crack.
Hi May i Know what are the title of the 3 book for the 3 sisters?
Thank you
They all have the words “A mistaken marriage match – ” (错嫁良缘) in front, so I will just mention the second part of the book name, in the series sequence:
Zhuo Qing / Qing Ling (eldest sister) – Record of Washed Grievances
Gu Yun / Qing Mo (third sister) – A Generation of Military Counselor
Qing Feng (second sister) – Mysteries of the Emperor’s Harem
For the eldest and third sisters, their souls have been replaced by 2 modern people who time-travelled back in time, while the second sister is 100% woman of that era.
Can I know if all three books of the series have happy endings?
All 3 do. But the 2nd sister endures a lot more trials in her relationship with the Emperor. As Moonblossom has aptly commented, the Emperor is a much harder nut to crack, and a much more complex character.
is there any website that i can download as mp3 for this audio? thanks.
Moonblossomed thank you so much for answering my question may I know if there is a e book for the third book which is Qing Feng (second sister) – Mysteries of the Emperor’s Harem? And also what is the Chinese title for this book? I just love the 2 book but I can’t seem to find the 3rd book. Thanks
Hi anyone know if the author will be writing any story for Ao Tian the man who loves Gu Yun and has always protected her.. I would really love to read his story..
Hi Cara. I like Ao Tian too – he who spent the whole night stepping on some branches until his feet became numb the next day – but I don’t think there is a book. I read about him again in the fourth book of this series called “A Pirate’s Daughter” and he is still single, and too concern about Gu Yun and her daughter. *_*
His Cara again, the name of the second book is called 错嫁良缘之后宫疑云 which you can read here. http://book.sto.cc/79243-1/
I would like to know would anyone recommend me a website that translates Qing Feng as well as Su Su stories, i.e., the 3rd and 4th books of this sequel?
Dear Moonblossom
Thank you so much for your reply. Do you have any other recommendation for C novel that has very good ending? Currently i am reading 暴君,我来自军情9处 by
潇湘冬儿. It is also a very good read.
Will be glad if you have anymore recommendations for me
Thanks you so much
Hi there,
I’m a newbie in posting comment here but been familiar with peanuts, hamster names for a year or two now. Usually all the information is fully provided or else I could find in others forum, however I really can’t find much with the third story of the second sister, Qing Feng, which I interested to read the most. I started to read few chapters and found my heart crying for her already since the emperor seems to be a bit sadistic and cruel plus others in the palace also all dark character with ill-will -_-
Anyone knows is there English version I can read? (My Chinese is in progress so it’d be faster if I read in English ><)
There is no English version for most Chinese novels unless some kind souls decide to translate to share the love of C novels as a few are doing.
Ive decided to embark on Qing Fengs story too as I find that GuYun and ZhuoQing has quite neglected her when she was in the palace and she was puzzled about her two so called sisters whom have undergone tremendous changes in her personality. I too wondered how she dealt with the Emperor, did he come to love her….what happened to her when her son died and did her scars fade with the healing of a doctor? (All these can be read in the second book on GY)
This is the link for Qing Feng’s story

Hi silhoutte!
Thanks for your reply! How sad it doesn’t have English translated version :< did her son die? How depressing and stressful, poor Qing feng! She has such a tough life to endure, I hope the emperor won't disappoint me by hurting her even more. In facts, I hate the ancient times that male is dominant over females, but no idea why I just cannot stop reading these kind of stories. Lol
I'll try my best to read in Chinese version, thanks for the link!!
Hi Kesree,
The emperor did love her however both misread each other’s actions or rather QF did. It was not mentioned (or I skipped the parts) if he did visited other concubines but much as I love spoilers (others might not) all I can say it was a happy ending.
I havent read many books on ancient settings (some are way, way too long) but thus far one book I have read mentioned (not too long by my standard) how the king gave up all women for the one he loved. This is one king I really admired cos the story was gripping till both of them fell out with each other and personally I felt he did so much for the heroine but she was so blinded in her hatred that I felt like giving her a good shaking to clear her tunnel vision!
This is the title of the book and the link and you can read the synopsis in SSB
重生之惊世亡妃
http://520xs.com/12822/
@Kesree I know exactly what you mean about those ancient males! I dislike the male-female power structure, but I can’t stop reading them. @_@
Hai, I am new here
Can anyone please give me another link for the audiobook.
the audiobook above I can’t seem to opened it.
Thank you
To answer @jessi26, the vietnamese version cut every chapter into 6-10 parts. I compared Inno’s translated english version chap. 9 part 1 to Vietnamese ver. is at chapter 50-60. But the vietnamese version is directly converted, and has not been edited. I found it really hard to read, mostly because my vietnamese is not excellent.
Anyways I love this book, especially that the author did not waste time and let Gu Yun go straight into training the soldiers. although the bit about how she found out more about Qing Mo is strange. Nobody told her, she just found out on her own… mystery, or it could be I missed that part..
is there other link for the ebook? the link above can’t view chapter 12 – end.
@ mei
You can try the following two links (:

Hope this helps!
I love love love this book so much!
I like how our female lead is extremely daring and strong in a sense, unlike many female lead characters – weak. She always put in 100% effort and tries to find ways to improve the situation which is one of many reasons generals, soldiers and *ehem* family members admire about her. Great sense of humour, definitely. Hahahaha I especially like it when she punished her soldiers with frog jumps *evil smirk* >:)
If you wanna read something different, I would definitely recommend this book. It’s probably one of my top favourite books as of up to date. Really worth you time! 🙂
so in love with gu yun^^ she had all that i need in a female lead. smart, strong and good tempered. she’s forever going to be my favorite.
Hello are the first 2 books translate or are there only raw version? I know inno and nutty have translated some of them, but I’m so hooked and need more chapter then 16 ( of Gu Yun’s part since I only found it in wattpad and didn’t know there were more books..) But since search for it I end up here and while reading the comments section I just got so confused :S so hope someone knows, hehe thanks :).
I really wish someone will start translating this novel again. It’s a great novel, I like Gu Yun’s feistiness and wittiness, much more than the other two.
I hope this novel gonna adapted to drama.. and the main role is wang kai and olivia wang..lol
