• This is one c-novel from one of my most favourite ancient novel series, Ancient Doting Wife Series.

  The female lead, Feng Ning (Phoenix), is the wife of Long Fei (Dragon), the third son in the renowned and powerful Dragon Family. They are very wealthy and powerful - the oldest son is a general and the second son is in charge of the large prosperous family business. No one knows what the third son does --- but he turns out to be a powerful pugilist in the martial arts world.

  The female lead has lost her memory and she does not know who she is or why everyone in the Dragon Family dislikes her. She finds out that she married because of a betrothal made by the grandparents of the Dragon Family and Phoenix Family long ago and this was not welcome by the Dragon Family --- she was found at the river, with a head injury after a precious treasure of the Dragon Family was stolen. The female lead starts to wonder if she is a bad person who stole the treasure and also realises that she and Long Fei had a marriage only in name and were distant and did not live together.

  So, she starts out on a journey to find out her true identity and meets Long Fei on the way. Long Fei is intrigued and confused --- why does Feng Ning appear to be a completely different person? Feng Ning starts to fall for Long Fei and wonders if their marriage can be real --- and then a secret is discovered which could potentially destroy their relationship forever...?

• Haha, see see you like to dig out all the author's books:P Ok, not ransacking but raiding, lol. Haha, you know I like to use dramatic language:P I know you love Ming Yue Ting Feng's books so do I but I like to read my fav authors' novels slowly. We've good taste in novels, lol. This book sounds interesting so I'll put it on my list (does this sound familiar, lol?)

  Btw, you only read two books by Dian Xian, right? If you don't know, I better warn you not to touch her third book bcos you may vomit blood. Most of the time, not all books by your fav authors are good so you better consult me, lol.

  Hahaha! I did not read the rest of the books immediately, but I couldn't find any other funny ancient c-novel so I picked up her books again. Hahaha! Then I thought I must as well finish the series and write a series introduction haha!

  Yes, please read! It's very funny and romantic. I love it.

  Oh yeah, I heard the third one is v bad, so I did not bother to read it. I have also diligently followed your recommendations for YLWX - she's not bad, but I think some light-hearted fluff! No more angst for me. Haha.

• Oh, you want funny ancient novels, tell me la, I can intro you some. I thought you like modern fluff and ancient angst to balance out, lol. That Emei novel is quite funny, did you give it a try? I've an Urgency is also funny but the ending may be considered sad. 厨娘囧事, you can give that book a try as 苏素 writes funny books. I've not read it yet so you can give me feedback. Floating Dreams is funny & a fav with many in SSB. Don’t Want To Sleep With Me? Off With Your Head! is lidge's fav funny book but I want to hear your honest opinion bcos I always feel she has weird taste, lol.

  Oh I love funny novels! They are my preferences actually. I just happen to like ancient novels more though, and funny ones are rare. Also because I try to avoid harem ancient novels so that limits my choices too.

• Huh? Seriously you finished Kao? I tut you dislike stupid female lead & I can't think of anyone worse than that Ching Ching. Actually I abandoned that book but picked it up later when there was an audio book.

  Yup, unfortunately there are more time-travel & harem ancient novels than funny ones. But some harem ones can be funny also. Don't worry you can always count on me to give you funny ancient novel recommendations:P Here is another funny one 纷纷落在晨色里 by 苏俏. Don't worry, I still have stock, lol. Yes, authors with the surname Su can write pretty funny ancient novels:P

• Peanuts, I super loved your recommendation by Su Qiao! 厨娘囧事 was short, sweet, hilarious and surprisingly touching! V good. I shall go check out your other recommendation for her.

  Can't seem to find a completed text for Floating Dream though. And, I will cut off your head has an emperor male lead, so hesitant in reading it because I generally dislike emperor male leads haha.

  Oh yeah, I disliked Kao! I've Been Submerged. Haha! Actually, I don't mind the female lead that much because the male lead was fun, but in the end I was super annoyed at the male lead's refusal to tell her "I love you" and telling her she is not worth it. OMG. Terrible male lead, even though he is devoted in his own way. Had v mixed feelings overall for it.

  Thanks for editing the entry - though that's not the real synopsis for Three Marriages. Haha! I was too lazy to go translate it. Haha.

• Wah you finished the book in less than a day? I need a week to finish a book:( Since you super loved it, pls post a write-up on it as the audio book has just been released. As I am bad with Chinese names, I need you to introduce characters as well as the storyline so I can follow it with ease:) You can check out other books by this author but I don't guarantee you:P The novel I just recommended is by Su Qiao, probably her sister, lol.

  I think Mei or whoever asked abt Floating Life text b4. You can only find the complete text for the online version but that version has a different ending compared with the print version. You better read the print version bcos the online version has sad or open ending. I suggest you read a bit first. If you like it, buy the physical book:P Or, you can listen to the audio book ending.

  Haha, I also don't like emperors or princes & all their relatives but I'll read/listen to the really good one eg Hua Xu Yin, Eastern Palace etc. Btw, most of the popular ancient novels have emperors:(

  Haha, tat is bcos the male lead in Kao is kind of cold & weird. But I think he did make amend in the end. Honestly, I also find the female lead not worth it:P It is not that I am siding with the guy but she did leave him & went back to her ex then went back to him later, so silly & annoying.

• It's pretty short! Only 12,000 words plus. It's a time-travelling novel, but for once used to hilarious effect so I'm fine with the trope. It's quite easy to read actually and I suspect you might finish the audiobook before I even write the entry haha! Ok, I will write it but will probably take one or two weeks. Shall take a break from reviewing after the mega entry (vvv tiring entry haha) and focus more on translating.

  Oh that makes sense! Because the online texts just ends abruptly and all the commenters are like - NOOOO.

  Yeah, the male lead has this weird ego complex thing. I was rooting for the female lead to go with the ex actually - to show the male lead who was so mean that she has other choices! The male lead is such an idiot. Haha.

  Oh, I don't mind at all! The synopsis for Three Marriages by the author is actually v good. I'll translate it one day. Haha. Too tired now. I think I wrote too much already for the ancient doting wife series, shall take a break!

• Haha, I told you before sometime time-travelling novels can be funny but most of the time they are annoying:P The audiobook is very slow and is still on-going so I can wait for your review. I listened to the beginning of the summarised radio drama. The female lead time travels back in time & becomes a cook in the royal court?

  Take your time with everything since you are already too fast, lol. Tell me abt it when I've to translate something I can't read, lol. I think I gonna retire after I finish Shan Shan and Silent Separation.
