I like this book more than the other one I posted bcos it is downright hilarious. I smile & laugh till I die, lol. This book is also more interesting with more funny characters. The storyline also a bit different from the usual high school/college romance. In addition this girl is a bit smarter than the last one. For a fluffy book, this book is one of the best I’ve read. Lastly, this book is a dream come true in that there are a few good looking & humourous eligible men, lol.

I recommended 一个黑道大哥的毁灭三步曲 b/c it’s only 5 chaps. I didn’t recommend 我的邻居很腹黑. I’ve read it though and I know a lot of ppl like it, but for some reason it just didn’t click with me. Gahhh, 我的邻居很腹黑 is like 81 chaps. I can do a summary for you if you want, but a direct translation = lidge dies^^
I just finished 一夜一日一年一世, and I’m seriously considering translating it in English. It’s short enough so prob doable. Btw 一个黑道大哥的毁灭三步曲 and 一夜一日一年一世, I want to do 一夜一日一年一世 first. And there’s a poignant short story by TQGZ that I like too. Ahhh, am just so lazy right now, sorry!!! hehe
I check Jaynestars often because it’s a good source of HK entertainment news in English. Didn’t know KM and HC won. I haven’t seen HC. It’s difficult for me to watch hospital dramas because I freak out when they show blood and surgeries that look real, lol.

Aiyaya, you missed such a good drama. HC is a must watch for the touching storylines & KM, lol. You close your eyes when there is blood or surgeries:P I feel it is the best drama in 2012.

I know that 我的邻居很腹黑 is popular because I read it based on other ppl’s rave reviews. For some reason, the story just didn’t click with me. I didn’t think it was funny, and I just couldn’t connect with the main couple or the writing style/translation.
一夜一日一年一世 is sad ending or not sad ending depending on each person’s interpretation, I guess. The main couple both die so I guess sad ending for most ppl, but not so sad for me because he finally appreciates her and they’ll be together even if it’s in death.
The TQGZ’s short story is called 送你一束鸢尾花. Sad ending too. You want summary of 一夜一日一年一世 or 送你一束鸢尾花? I’m good with summaries, but direct translations and I die because I’m too laze, lol. Also because I’d be translating on a translation too so chances are there’s bound to be discrepancies so I can’t guarantee how correct my English translation would be 🙁
Yes, but sometimes the drama suddenly flashes to a surgery scene, and the realness of it would traumatize me, lol.

Hi there, I just want to drop a note to thank you for recommending this fabulous book 老婆, 跟我回家吧. It was such a fantastic read that I could not put my I-pad down until I finished it!!! It was my first ever Chinese novel. I really felt great because I am not Chinese literate, so I had to rely on the audio version from google translate. The translating was rather tedious and slow but becoz the book was so good and funny, the time and effort spent were well worth it. I was laughing out loud all the time and uncontrollably too!! Both Guan Xiao Yan and Jiang Li were too cute and adorable. I was so captivated with their love story:- how a dashing, handsome, rich, successful, althletic, perfect = almost too good to be true young man would fall in love with a girl with average looks, no ambition, not so smart, low ego, low IQ, no drive, no background, and to top if off, she can only boasts of a A-cup!!!! Sigh….if only this happens in real life……then again, maybe it does….
Anyhow, by any chance do you know of any other books of this same genre – romance comedy by the same author or a another good author?? I am very new in the world of reading Chinese novels, so I need all the help I can get. Furthermore, I am handicapped by my lack of not be able to read Chinese (I am trying very hard to learn now, and will even be signing up for classes soon!).

I have just finished this book and would give it a big “LIKE!” for anyone looking for a light read.
The pacing is good, Xiao Yan’s view of things are hilarious, and the author has cleverly incorporated 3 passages from the men’s point of view from time to time so that the reader doesn’t just get the story from Xiao Yan Yan’s perspective, but also from Jiang Li and (first lead) and Wang Kai (second lead) as well. The last few chapters on the corporate takeover is a little boring but the story is very funny and romantic overall.

To start off, JiangLi thinks he is Gay and is pressurised to marry ASAP by his parent. He choose XY cos her psychological assessment indicate she has a lesbian tendency…..but in actual fact, none of them are….I think this story basically hammer in the fact that you can either marries the person you love…or chose to love the person you marries. As a husband, JL is ultra sweet…he helps her to move on from her “ex-husband” and her dad. I super love him on how he hijack his wife blog and post his own half-naked shots and using clothes pegs to leave “love bites” on the back of her neck….so funny when he is jealous.I like Wang Kai too…But like all china writer….it is fairly long.
This book is my cup of tea, light comedy & not angsty. XY is a bit silly but hardworker & doesn’t fall easily for sweet words. I love how she “ordered” her husband to rape her flirty male friend haha.
