Uncle Three loves good food, good booze, good card games, and bad women–and he’s never found a grave he wouldn’t rob. He can’t help it–it’s in his blood–grave robbing has been the family business for centuries.
So when his bookseller nephew comes to him with a map to an ancient tomb, Uncle Three sets off to find it, in the company of some grave-robbing colleagues, his nerdy nephew, and a strange poker-faced guy that nobody can quite figure out.
Uncle Three knows that the grave he seeks will lead him and his companions to “another kind of world,” but not even he could ever imagine what they are about to find. Lost in a labyrinthine cavern that is full of dead bodies, Uncle Three and his comrades fight for their lives as they come up against vampires, corpse-eating bugs, and blood zombies.
THE FIRST VOLUME OF The Grave Robbers’ Chronicles, which will soon be followed by Angry Sea, Hidden Sand, Cavern of the Blood Zombies is as impossible to put down as a bag of good potato chips. A story with more twists and turns than a burial cavern and the funniest grave robbers the world has ever known, it’s kept Chinese readers awake far into the night. Now it’s your turn…You can buy all these English translated novels at amazon.com.

Surprise !!! Don't forget this is shusheng bar, not romance novel bar, lol. Thus, I am posting something different today for the 1st anniversary of the bar. Hopefully like this famous novel with 8 volumes, this bar will be here for the long run, well at least 8 years and also it will be as popular as this book, haha..
Thank you to Aries for recommending me this book. This is indeed a very famous, even with official English translated books. Four has been released but I've only included the link for one only as I am sure you can google for the rest. I read some comments that the translation is not as good as the original one so if you can read Chinese, read it.
As for me, I plan to listen to the Cantonese audiobook when I am on holiday as I heard it is pretty exciting and addictive. I don't want to end up having no sleep for the next few weeks:P There is also a manhua on it & 5 volumes have been released. Lastly there is even an online game.

闷油瓶 is miiinnnneeeeeeee! Well, I can be generous and share him with 无邪 if I must. :p
That's all I have to say. LOL.
My cousin asked my brother to pick up the entire series for her when he was in China last year. She read it online and wanted a hard-copy of all the books because the series was that good (according to her, lol).
Peanuts: you can understand Cantonese, too?? I downloaded all 7 audiobooks and tried listening to the first book months ago and gave up after the 10 minute mark of the first mp3. I couldn't get into the audio book at all! :( I have the same problem when other books are being read on my local Cantonese radio channel where I'm at (AM 1480). So, I've come to the conclusion...Cantonese audiobooks just don't work for me. Ahahaha, this is especially unfortunate as I come from a Cantonese speaking family. =X
Then you can listen to the Mandarin audio book lol. I think I should be okay with the language but what I can't stand is that it has so many books. I've very short attention span so I think I'll wait for the movies, lol. Usually I prefer radio drama to audio books but they never get finished:( Btw, I think 2 or 3 books have officially been translated into English.
Hey! everyone,
china is going to make a drama of Dao Mo Bi Ji.
see http://www.letv.com/ptv/vplay/20140631.html
I also recommend 鬼吹灯 Ghosts Blow out the Lamp, it's also has a manhua and it's probably got audiobooks else where too. If you are into the grave robbing genre then check it out. :D
T minus 6 days until the drama comes out.
Translations of Kylin Zhang's quotes from the novels:
http://bltranslation.blogspot.com.au/2015/04/the-380-utterances-of-kylin-zhang-grave.html ~> you can see why so many people ship Kylin and Wu Xie (aka PingXie). Hehehe. BL alert :P
Just had to leave a comment because this is a must read novel for anyone who understands Chinese! The only thing I can say about this novel is read and you will really enjoy and immerse yourself into the story. That's how good it is.
sadly the link doesn't work anymore. :/
I'd love to read the books since i started studying Chinese this year and am currently watching the drama.. but I'm nowhere near good enough to read it in Chinese yet (I already have a hard time following the drama).
Is there any other place where I could find an English translation?
I've updated the link but I am not sure it is working as I dare not try to download anything online because of the risk involved. You can easily search for the pdf version of the official translation online but do be mindful of the risk.
So far, 4 books have been translated into English. If you like the first book or the drama, I'll encourage you to buy them from amazon or other online book sellers to support copyright.
Actually, there are 6 officially translated books that have been published. You can now buy a 6-volume box set on Amazon, which is half the price of buying them individually. I pre-ordered all the books because I had to get my greedy paws on them the day of release, so I never was able to capitalize on such a great deal. :p
