Hahaha, this is a funny book. At the same time the hilarous scenes are not forced or over the top. The languge used also quite std & not stupid. Also, there is a little bit of angst in it as well as I read there will be another credible competitor for the girl's love. I've only read abt 3 chapters. Felt a bit sad for the girl when the guy pretended he doesn't know her:( So far, I like both the leads as they come across as rather normal & well-liked. Looking fwd to see how their r/s will develop.
Hey lidge, I know you love this book so I posted the Viet book cover for you to drool on, lol. You've such shinning & sparkling teeth/smile, haha...Btw, I dropped Funv Gaga after 4 chapters bcos that book is dumb. I can't really understand the language used & I don't find it funny.
It's rare for me to like a story after the first chapter, and this was one such instance. I loved it from the get-go because of the Friends reference, which is one of my favorite sitcoms. Clip of the "genius" idea copied by QQ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEw1LgrbTNQ. Love dorky Ross, lol.
I made the mistake of reading this at work and ended up laughing out loud. My boss ran over in alarm, crying "What has happened?! What has happened?!" thinking something was wrong since I hollered out loud, lol.
Props to peanuts for tracking down the Viet cover. Hey peanuts, I was browsing and read from another reader that there's a story similar to this one so I'm checking it out right now!!! Woot! Woot!^^
Tell me, what is the name of that book? There are plenty of similar books but is it good? The storyline can be more or less the same but the author's skill is very impt. Funv Gaga is also kind of similar but that one is plain dumb. Heehee, that is why I dare not read this in my office now:P How did you explain to your boss? Did you tell him you 'love' him to get out of that sticky situation, lol?
Btw, you still owe me some summaries of some sad & happy books:P
I told my boss I saw something funny online. I can't use the "love confession" on my boss because my boss is a fifty-something woman. I'm saving it for when I have a hot guy as boss, lol.
Haha, the title is funny - Pirate Ship, Wait for Me:P Remember to tell me nice or not. The review for this book isn't that promising as not many ppl have read it. Also, the author doesn't normally write funny book. As per comments, beginning good but later boring. Viet readers do love funny books as pactically all sort of funny books be it nice or not also get translated:P
Have you tried the 'love' confession on anyone? your lecturer, lol?
I've yet had to use the "love confession" (fortunately for the person getting the confession? lol) but will not hesitate to use it if there's a need^^
Peanuts, hope you get to part of the welcome party where QQ meets the tampon lady and resorts to singing Happy Birthday because it's the only English song she knows. Very funny!!
I wonder if the 'love' confession work in real life. If someone do that to me, I fail him immediately, haha....
Hey, I am curious to know what did QQ say in Japanese during the interview that make SZY hired her immediately? She spoke something fr a Jap drama. Yah, welcome party is my next chapter. Gonna laugh my head off tonight, lol.
I'm curious too, but the book doesn't clarify on this point. We don't know what QQ said because she doesn't even know herself, lol. Since it's from a conversation between a married couple from a romance movie, I'm guessing something romantic like "I love you" or based on the movie title, probably "I can't live without you" or something similar. This would explain SZY's shock reaction.
I think the success probability of the "love confession" depends on the looks of the speaker, lol.
Bah, I though he revealed it in subsequent chapter. I guess I've to use my imagination:P I don't know how to say I love you in Jap but I know how to say it in Korean, lol. What I like abt this book is the humour is quite subtle, not the in your face kind. That guy is quite bad told the girl he doesn't like smart girl. This is quite realistic as I think most guys are scare of intelligent girls. Oh, such a pity I am smart, lol.
Wah lidge, you are so judgmental & so unprincipled:P No matter how he looks like, fail fail fail, lol. While researching your pirate book, I found a few books worth checking out this weekend. I'll post the good one. My parents coming back fr holi on Sun so cannot stay up anymore to read:(
Sorry, I'm not sure what happened to the forum page here....? Hopefully nobody minds me putting this comment here, but are most of the writers here from the Mainland? Seems like there aren't as many tw or hk romance authors posted.
