I've searched high & low online for the ending but there is no ending so don't bother abt it & enjoy the story as it is very highly-rated & well-liked. I think there are 4 books written on their adventures but I suspect Cgege gonna read the 1st book only.

Qilin (Japanese romanization is kirin) is often translated to unicorn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qilin. Although from the chinese art that i see, it doesn't really qualify as a unicorn, because in a lot of artistic representation, it has a pair of horns.
