The chief female forensic investigator, Ran Yan was secretly killed by her assistant. Unexpectedly, she was reborn in the years of the Tang dynasty. After experiencing a narrow escape, she fled from Jiangnan to Chang’an. Although, Chang’an was at the beginning of its flourishing period under the Li family’s Tang dynasty, various princes were vying for the throne by using all kinds of strategies. This was the dark days of the imperial court, where one needed to walk on a tightrope as one’s life was as powerless as an ant. The Xiao family controlled a large amount of wealth so inevitably they also became involved in the conflicts.
After arriving in Chang’an, she discovered many suspicious incidents: the original owner had unexplainable amnesia but his family was indifferent. She once again saw the orchid shaped clay inkstone, a valuable object that her mother has given her in modern times. Hence, could it be that she can time travel back? In order to survive in the Tang dynasty, she displayed her strong spirit and willpower by learning medicine from a doctor, pretended that she benefited from being sick on how to cure diseases, suffered hardship in earning money, manufactured penicillin, cured syphilis, and used her autopsy skill and experience to solve each and every murder mysteries.
[Ebook] [Audiobook] [Eng Translation (Chapters 1- 81) (Chapters 82-on)] [Kim ngọc mãn đường][Drama]
大唐女法医 is a good, but audio book is incomplete. First comment on here ^^. Been following this site for a while. Got me addicted to novel books now!
Welcome to the book addict bar:P The audio book is in progress. Since you’ve been a lurker for a while, do you want to translate the synopsis of 大唐女法医 & post it up so we can discuss abt it? You can read Chinese, right? Btw, do you know who is the correct ship since there are 3 guys in the novel? Heehee, I am lazy to translate & search for the ending:P
@Peanuts, sorry I can’t read chinese D: I can understand it though, so as long as someone reads it to me, I can understand most of it. I can try at the synopsis for 大唐女法医, but it won’t be word for word.
大唐女法医 Synopsis:
Sad reminder as the chief of forensics Ran Yan was killed by her assistant, accidently reborn in the years of the Tang Dynasty and just arriving she finds herself having many doubts: the original owner had unexplainable amnesia, family is indifferent, she once again sees the orchid cheng inkstone, the treasure her modern mother gave to her, does it mean she can go back? To survive in the Tang Dynasty, she unleashes her strong spirit and willpower, taking a bell doctor as her teacher, lied that curing disease was taught, found bitter way to making money, refining penicillin, curing syphilis, and using her skills and experience with autopsy to untie murder mysteries.
Thank you to juju for the recommendation and translating the synopsis. I read rave reviews on this novel so I gonna start listening to it soon and give my comment. The audio book should be good with so many guys who I like, lol. Before I start this novel, I need to search and read some spoilers to ensure I am on the right ship, heehee. Hui3r is ahead of me so I’ve asked her to write a comment.
Pm, your shabu shabu time:P
Who are you shipping? I know who she ends up with ^^. I really like novels that have a strong female lead.
Weeee Juju – who does she ship?
She’s definitely an atypical heroine. To be honest I am actually enjoying the mysteries more than the actual character development.
I am slack so I may not try to find out the ending and go with the flow. I may just trust my instinct and ship the character Cgege is reading. I am on the right ship, rite lol?
Is Cgege reading Xiao Song, if he is then you’re on the right ship ^^
Well… I don’t know about Peanuts, but I am on the right ship. 🙂
I am always on the right ship:P Thanks, juju. Is the audio book ending soon? Is Xiao Song the most likeable guy in the story? Is he funny?
The audiobook is maybe a bit less than halfway done. Xiao Song doesn’t have a bubbly personality, there’s one male character who likes her that has more of a silly naive but likeable personality. Xiao Song plays the more serious type and whoever is reading as him has a deep voice which goes so well with Xiao Song’s personality if you ask me ^^.
Xiao Song is the Xing Bu Shi Lang from the capital right? It’s been a while since I’ve caught up with this book so I am a bit blur. If so, than he should be right up Peanuts alley – super fu hei. 😛
Aahhhh…..shabu shabu again….yummy yummy yummy!!!!!! 🙂
Eh…link is wrong….
http://www.19lou.com/forum-26-thread-12101355398737183-1-1.html
I only managed to find one source..but I’m not sure if all the chpts are in…..
Ay idea?
Yup hui3r, Xiao Song is the Xing Bu Shi Lang :D.
Oh, so excited ah as hui3r knows my taste well, lol. Unfortunately, I am listening to 2 other novels with ‘fu hei’ guys so Xiao Song needs to wait or else I’ll mix them up, lol.
Pm, I know abt 19lou link but I think it is incomplete. Anyway tell me if it is complete since you gonna read it. Otherwise you’ve to download the ebook from ishare. Hey, you fnished my rabbit book?
Peanuts……pm going to faint….it’s almost 200 chapters…..***faint faint***
I’ ll be bummed if after attempting to read and it’s incomplete……I shall leave it for further attempt…
I havent read bunny one yet…. Was side tracked by an older book called “blame you for being too beautiful” was not a bad read……but too bad no epilogues 🙁
Pm….Then listen to the audio book with me so it’ll be complete lol.
Why you always get side-tracked? Oh, i remember that book. It is okay, quite sad. Lidge doesn’t like it but I like it so you better write a nice comment to support that book, lol.
Yes mam:) I liked it too….sorry lidge……
Eh..but I prefer to read peanuts…I found a babymama site
http://91baby.mama.cn/thread-878072-1-1.html
But I’m not sure if it’s complete either. But babymama seems to be more reputable??
Oky folks….I just skimmed thru the latest baby mama site…it has 439 chapters and the words 大结局 and 正文完 so I guess shd all be in there… Total of 31 pages…..
Peanuts can use the baby mama site 🙂
439 Chapters?! @_____@
Luckily this series is more episodic, so its a slow boil kinda thing. Can finish a specific arc, then let it go for a while. Otherwise, sure die of suspense.
Uh, i have finished whole book!! Must say that it is my first cnovel about autopsy but i really enjoyed it.
My fav characters beside Ran Yan and Xiao Song are Liu Qingsong and San Chen. Both are soo funny. One in irresponsible and kind of childish way and the other one in dummy and cute way 🙂
Are there any links where I can read all the chapters? I really wanna read this novel!
wanna read this badly but i can’t find english trans..i wanna register on 91baby and use. Google translate but i can’t understand the site haha..help ㅠㅠ
Downloading the audiobook at the moment. Guess I know how I’ll be spending my time this weekend. Can’t wait to seriously delve into this book 😀
Listening to the first chapter right now on ximalaya and I think the female narrator is pretty good despite all the complaints from commenters. Hmms, also don’t know if it’s just me but it seems to sound louder on yst8.
Hey Joanna, quickly finish this book bcos I’ve an assignment for u after that lol. I’ll post this book with 3 volumes and need u to read it. Then pls write me a detailed summary and list of characters in English 🙂
Haha, sure Peanuts! 🙂
I ended up listening to only 4 segments of the 230 that’s available. Do you know if the last segment (#230) is the last one and if the audiobook is completed?
439 chapters and a lot of side stories from what I see at shumilou! 😀
I started translating this novel for fun and decided to post online in case English readers are interested — https://sunshowerfields.wordpress.com/
@joannakuang they started updating the audiobook again! Now it is at 250. The audiobook is only about halfway through the novel. Also it skips/condenses all the romance scenes that are in the novel. I noticed when I started reading after 230 when the audiobooks stopped updating last fall.
To all the audiolisteners out there, I recommend listening to it on iting360 because quality seems better and the updates show up there faster.
@jollymerry, I just read your English translations and I’m loving it. Thank you very much for translating for those who do not understand. I’m actually willing to help you translate but I only know a few words and can only read pinyin to understand. If you ever need help you can ask me (but I probably will not be much help) and I will try my best. However, I probably can’t do anything right now as I am quite busy.
Aside from that, you said that the audiobook from iting360 works but I can’t seem to download it on my apple device. Do you know if there are any other sites that work well? I am currently using 我听评书网 but the narrator’s voice is a bit childish (not bad though).
@princessblaine
Thanks! Keep me posted 🙂
As for audiobooks, it’s currently also on ximalaya but the sound quality is not as good as iting – same version, just a bit sharper. Lately the new version iting has so many ads, so I’m not loving it. I recommend downloading from iting phone app since one of the two playlists has files around 5mb each (really good size). I use android and it downloaded. If that doesn’t work, try the ximalaya app. You should definitely be able to download on an apple product since I have ximalaya on my ipad.
Currently the audiobook stopped updating again *sigh*, it’s alright though since what’s already recorded is great.
@jollymerry
You’re welcome and I will!
I will try to download iting. Good luck to you!
@jollymerry
Just out of curiosity, when does the romance start to really develop? You said that the audiobook skips/condenses some of the romance scenes so I want to know when to start reading the official novel. Thank you!
@princessblaine
Sorry for late response since I dont get notifications, but if you post on my blog I can probably see it sooner.
It condenses scenes starting after she gets married to male lead which is after chapter 200. I forget which chapter exactly, but whenever she gets married. Other than that I didn’t really notice any other parts condensed. Condensing is actually quite common in a lot of novels ie almost all of Ding Mo and Mo Bao Fei Bao’s novels. Hope this helps! 🙂
@jollymerry
I’m already on episode 243 and I seriously can’t handle to romance scenes anymore.
LOL, I’ve realized that all the murders are committed by females and not males. However, I love all of the mysteries Xiu Tang inserts into the book.
Watching this series on YouTube at the moment. Entertaining.
