A Match Made in Heaven (The Perfect Match) 佳偶天成 by 十四郎 Shi Si Lang (HE)

MMiH

This is an era where demons run rampant. The brave maiden has embarked on her journey… (a mistake)

It is said that a wife can be bought with money; then a husband can also be purchased. Xin Mei has nothing but money. She wants to buy herself a good-looking and useful husband… (big mistake)

*Clutches head* Introductions are so hard to write~ Oh well, it can be like this for now. It can be changed later after some more thought.

Thanks for the recommendation hamster! Haven’t read

This novel only has 50 chapters, the perfect length IMO. I also enjoy books where the heroines have foot-in-mouth syndrome. Haha, looks like this will be another fun read. 😀

On a sad note, maybe I didn’t look hard enough, but could not find the audiobook version. I only happened to stumble upon a few cosplay MVS.

Looks like I’ll be giving a 三千鸦杀 (also by 十四郎) a chance since it’s about the same length and there’s an audiobook. Have you read this one? Any opinions on this book? 😀

I didn’t like Killing of 3000 Crows as much. I loved the hero, but not the heroine. But Decembi really liked that novel so you might want to try it out and see for yourself.

Length is never a problem while reading, but always the problem while translating

    Strangely my comment didn’t send!

Heehee, I love both this novel and Three Thousand Crows Killing! I gave them both 4.5 stars – I think the male lead in 3000 Crows is more memorable though! 🙂

Yep the male lead in 3000 Crows is a heart stealer. But he’s so good that I wish he had gotten a better girl than the female lead.

In Match Made in Heaven, male lead is not as memorable, but he is a sweetheart just the same. The OTP also feels much more in balance and wholesome as a pair.

The author caught my eyes. I love Fu Jiu Yun. Yes I don’t like the female lead much either, but I’ll like her still because he likes her. Very selfish girl.

This is a traditional “blockhead” male-“hyperactive” female pairing….I do love xiao xia but find the author style of injecting modern humour into the story quite distracting…there wasn’t much angst in the story and the part where they “date” at the cliff was touching….other than that, the book is sweet and a short read.

I dunno what u mean by traditional, so I’m certainly not disagreeing, but I find both of them to be a rarity in cnovels today which is one of the main reasons why I like this book. In a time where 腹黑 and geniuses are a dime a dozen, I appreciate Liu Qianqiao’s simple, steadfast way. He’s a mixed breed with family issues, so he lives in some godforsaken burial site for the royals and keeps to himself (and his pack of demon weirdos and riffraff) while his greatest battle was his own self destruction due to some weird family genes. But he is decent and kind and wants to do right by the girl he loves. If this had been any other novel, he would be sparkling from head to toe with special snowflakes, because he himself would be one.

Xin Mei is also a win in my book for not being an oblivious 小白. She’s a bit bumbling due to age, but is otherwise an intelligent functional human being who can call bullshit when she sees it. She loves LQQ not coz he’s freakin awesome but coz she has the good sense to recognize that he’s decent and kind and would want to do right by her. She stayed with him through his lowest of times and convinced him they were better as one than as two so he better not think of noble idiocy.

Basically, they are ppl I would want to invite to our house parties IRL bcoz they are good and uncomplicated ppl, and the wife cracks me up.

This novel made me laugh and I constantly had a smile on my face in response to the silly things the female lead would say or think. I like how light it is compared to a lot of the dog blood dramatics of other novels and thank god for the lack of time travel. Does anyone know where to get the locked chapters? It’s like when it’s getting to the good stuff and then whoops nope not for you >.<

Thank you for the recommendation of this novel. It has made me burst out laughing 😀 – I found the link of this website while I was looking for novels similar to ‘Tong Hua’ novels. Wonderful job! Appreciate it! Thanks!
