This is basically my favorite romance bar none. End of review.
I am actually considering translating this novel into English. Unfortunately this will have to be from the Vietnamese version that I read since I don't know Chinese itself. Added to that, it's a (heavily) historical novel, even attempting to translate it entirely and striving for accuracy would be impossible. At most I can only attempt to translate important chapters and do summaries for the other ones. Nevertheless, I love this novel so much that I wish for the English-speaking community to read it too. So I am definitely going to attempt the translation before this year ends.
If you pick it up, do come back and let us know the link!
I contemplated translating this novel myself, and did Chapter 32 as a test. Even in that chapter which was focused on Aiqing and Rajiva, I was struggling with ethnic names that are not Chinese... like so freaking much. I don't believe I would be much help but I'd be glad to help with little tidbits.
It seems like there's a second book to the series. Probably a separate story, but does anyone know what it's about? Google translate tells me something along the line of Kublai Khan?
The 2nd book is called Blue Lotus, I think. It's more xianxia than historical, bcoz there is a fox spirit who fell in love with a monk. Most ppl don't like it as much.
OMG I love this novel. So angsty and yet sweet at the same time. I couldn't wait for the translation and used google translate. It was worth it!
