This is a majestic story about Immortals and Gods, and revolves around the love one God has for another, and the extent to which he would go to in his love for her. The entire background of the story is rather grand, with the author managing to create a world with so much detail and care that it simply draws you in. The minor failing point, however, is that some of the supporting characters are crafted in a somewhat one dimensional manner, but in the general scheme of things, the novel is still a pretty good and interesting one. Additionally, being the romanticist that I am, it’s slightly sad to see minimal cute interactions between the female lead and the male lead in the second half of the book.
This is the type of novel that draws me in //// I hope that someone can translate... All I can offer is hours of animu-styled Art in return, but if anyone translates, I'd love to draw fanart of it!
i listened to all 9 episodes of the radiodrama.. and i only have one comment.. "i need moreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" ahahahaha ~! its too addictive for me.. now i am seriously considering listening to the story google translate style.. though the voice actors for the radiodrama was awesome..i wonder if they will continue the story.. I am a lost child in the world of chinese wordings... on a side note.. does anyone know roughly which chapter of the novel is in at the equivalent to the radio drama? hehe
@ Kura Ou Do read it if it's ever translated! It's a pretty good novel but it's a daunting task, standing at 100 chapters, coupled with the complex terminology.
@ lamlam1990 I do think that the radiodrama is being updated as we speak, so you can be patient and wait for the remaining episodes! I took a brief listen to the radiodrama and I'm shocked - they have covered a total of 74 chapters out of 98! How is it that they managed to squeeze in so much content in 9 episodes? When I read the novel, the chapter was pretty lengthy so I'm impressed. I'm glad you enjoyed the story, I couldn't put the book down either. I am absolutely in love with Bai Jue.
@dramasbooksandtea... i am guilty of spam listening to monotone single voiced audiobook... hahaha ~ i finished the story already...but i will wait for the radiodrama and listen again XD and i think the radiodrama can squeeze alot inside, can it doesnt explain in detail how each person looked and wears and etc.. hahaha.. which i find much more easy to understand.. sometimes ancient books are filled with proverbs to explain a person's astonishing beauty.. which i find personally.. abit @@.. hahahaha.. all in all.. i would have hoped that epilogues will exist T_T.. its too short..sigh
@lamlam1990 I felt that the novel was pretty well paced and ended on a good note, although epilogues would have been reallllly good fan service. There were simply too many people I wanted to know more about! Like what happened to Feng Ran? What about my beloved Bai Jue? And what happened to the Celestial Emperor and his Queen? :( Haha I understand what you mean, I've read some really complex novels, but thankfully Ancient God is still within my acceptable range. I liked her much more when she wasn't Ancient God though, maybe because it's much easier to see her deep connection with the people around her when she's really powerless.
I THINK THIS STORY IS SO GOOD!! In the beginning, the author start off slowly while leaving a lot of unsolved mystery and slowly uncovers them in later part of story. I feel that the author did a good job in planning the entire story. It make me very curious in the beginning and I had to read on to find out more. Every time they explained about the past, I get wowed. Especially the plot twists.
Yeah, I agree that there is not much of affection showing between the main couple. But you can feel that they really love each other a lot!! Like little caringness and sacrifices. I like how the femalelead is a very strong girl. In the beginning, she is a high god despite having little power. Usually people will look down on this kind of god who only got title but no actual power. But she doesnt let anyone to disrespect her. She is a high god, and they ought to bow down for her.
I am also satisfied with all the villians endings. They got what they deserve.
