Killing of Three Thousand Crows (Love of Thousand Years) 三千鸦杀 by 十四郎 Shi Si Lang (HE)

A forbidden love that has waited a thousand years, an epic love that has endured through 10 lifetimes. A infatuation that is unable to be engraved onto the Stone of 3 Lives: even if fated to not to have you, I will still oppose the heavens to guard you.
Following <<The Glass Maiden>>, Shi Si Lang once again opens the Realm of Three Thousand, creating once again another memorable xian xia love story. A blazing fire reduces the Great Yan Kingdom into ashes, also burning up the Great Yan Kingdom’s princess Di Ji glorious future.

She kept strong despite feeling otherwise, vehemently refusing him: You can have me, but never think for once you can have my heart!

That man completely didn’t care. He faintly smiled: I only want you, who said anything about your heart?

**

She held onto his leg, crying: Your lordship! Please! I’m willing to offer myself!

The man kept his attention on the book in his hand and replied her absent-mindedly: You want to offer, but I don’t want you.

*

Takasugi Shinsaku penned: “I’d kill all the crows in the world, to sleep with you till morning tolls (1).” The novel is drawn from here.

  1. This is a line from the Japanese poem 「明け烏 夢の淡雪」 “Ravens at First Light: Faint Snowfall in Dreams” credited to Takasugi Shinsaku.

    • I thought so as well. Zuo Zi Chen is really cruel. It's true that it's not his fault that he can't love Xuan Zhu, but the leas the can do was remember her. He took the easy and cowardly way out by forgetting.

  • I'm about halfway through the book right now, and I really like the touches about the art with an illusion that comes to life and the world 14Lang creates. I don't know what though - I think it's nicely written, but it doesn't give me the urge to stay up until the crack of dawn to find out what happens...

I think it took me the last 5 chapters to fully appreciate, especially where it's telling Fu Jiu Yun's pov throughout the story. I learned to like Di Ji (even though I did like Qing Quang who I see as a split personality of Di Ji rather than Di Ji herself) towards the end of the story. I thought the whole ordeal with Zhuo Zi Qian was kind of blah... FJY all the way!

    • I also like FJY more than ZZC! FJY is just all sorts of awesome, but I still feel like I haven't got him quite figured out. There always seems like there is more to him. Whereas ZZC....yeah. What you see is what you get, I think. It is a little hard for me to like Qing Chuan (I think I like little DiJi more), but I'll take your word for it!

  • I like this book all because of  Fu Jiu Yun. Such a nice name & such a nice voice for the audio book:) I think I am in love with his voice, haha...so pls don't show me his photo in case I faint, LOL. Yah, this story is not that exciting but FJY's character is so sweet & funny at the beginning.  Then later, so giving & sacrificial towards DJ/QC. For me the storyline is only average but I like Mr 14 writing style as there is a right balance b/w humor & sadness, plus happy ending:) I like neither DJ or QC as I find her character rather flat & bland. Plus she tried to hurt my FJY:(

At the beginning, I hate Xuan Zhu but towards the end I pity her for loving & sacrificing for an unworthy man. Don't get me started on ZZC. I hate him from beginning to end. He didn't even have the guts to redeem himself by dying & took the coward way out. Although he didn't do anything evil, he still make it as one of the character I dislike most in my short c-novel listening span.

  • I thought one of the funny things in this novel was that Fu Jiu Yun would always go to Qing Chuan's Mei Shi Shu to make him grow up faster. It makes it seems like no matter how many times he dies, they'll always get back together considering Qing Chuan is on her way to become a Xian and Fu Jiu Yun always has his memories when he dies.

  • Hi all! I chanced upon this place while searching for some reviews/commentary on 三千鸦杀 (it's a habit I have. I will want to read what others think and feel about the books I'm currently reading and loving). How glad am I to find people of the same interests in these 言情小说 and to be able to discus plot development and characters with you all!
I'm currently in the last few chapters - I agree that this title doesn't make me want to forgo sleep like what 大漠谣 and 华胥引 did to me but whenever 傅九云 comes out, I just want to have more of him! I flipped towards the end and didn't like what I read (some noble sacrificial thingy again right??!!) but I will have faith in the process that the author brings me through

    • Welcome! Always happy to have more 'scholars' to join in our talks.

You're right, there's going to be some sacrificing happening, but that just makes our main girl here know how important he is to her. Its all good in the end.

      • Thank you! Okay I've just finished this book (quite an easy breezy read which can be finished in 3 nights!)
I absolutely love the ending of the chapter "没有你的黎明" on Qin Chuan's monologue on waiting for Fu Jiu Yun!! It tugged at my heart strings and while I have no idea (like herself) when she started having those feelings for him, but it was so beautiful just reading her devotion to him :)

    • Yeh, another fan of Fu Jiu Yun. Welcome to his fan club, haha...Probably the 2nd guy in this book is too weak & bland, this highlights how interesting & wonderful Jiu Yun is. I also couldn't wait to know the ending & tried to listen to the last chapter. I though he didn't end up with the girl. Luckily Chancy clarified that there is a huge flashback about Fu Jiu Yun which explains his love for Di Ji and who he is before their first face to face meeting which misled me into thinking it is a sad ending. Although I am not overly fond of Di Ji, I still want them to have a happily ever after ending. Oh, I don't think the audiobook has Di Ji's monologue:(

  • Glad u liked the book. He's one of my favorite guys. Her devotion totally won me over. Towards the beginning til middle i was thinking she didn't deserve him, but her reaction when her shishu told her about his return really made me smile. And that moment when he started to disappear did she know what she was going to lose. T_T

  • Went hiking this Saturday and there was lots of signatures carved into trees and than I thought up that time in this book where Qing Chuan and Jiu Yun wrote their names on bamboos. That even if they both had to disappear, the bamboo would witness their existence. That was one of my favorite parts in the story.

    • Oh no, got this part ar? How come I didn't listen? I must have fallen asleep:P Can you remember which chapter? Did you carve your name on the tree also, lol? Btw, will doing that damage the tree?

      • Ill tell u when i feel like re reading. Heh or ill just search out that chap. Those bamboo with their names actually comes back into the story again after he disappeared. No i didn't carve on the trees. ^___^ i think it does at least some kind of damage to the trees.

  • I am thinking of listening to the audiobook for this story. It seems like a fairly likable story from the comments here. Is the audiobook easy to understand and fun to listen to? Also, I started to listen to the radiodrama already and it's very confusing. Can someone who has already read the story give me a summary of the plot and a brief introduction on all the characters to help me out? Thank you so much, everyone!
